This is a food truck, so atmosphere isn't a consideration. The menu is limited, mostly fried, but quite tasty. This will be a weekly indulgence during Lent.The proprietress is warm, funny, and fast. She's the kind of lady whose business you want to support.Fried shrimp are great. They are big boys, not little popcorn shrimp. The flounder is delicious. The grouper fingers could be made better with a spicier batter, but everything is fried in clean oil.A variety of sauces/dips are available. The roumelade is quite good.

Great food truck. I had the Most Awesome Fish Sandwich. It was excellent and very large. The potato chips were also very good. Had to wait 5 minutes because it was made for me not sitting under a heat lamp. I will be back!Parking: In a food truck park with other food trucks.

We decided to take a day trip to Murrells Inlet and visit the marsh walk. Because we had our dog with us, indoor dining was not an option. After looking up reviews, we decided to order takeout from the Fish Shak and we were so happy we did. My husband had the shrimp basket and I got a combo basket of the fried flounder and shrimp. The food was absolutely delicious! The thin cut potatoes that came with both meals were really yummy and the coleslaw was prepared just the way we like it with not too much mayonnaise. The service was fast and friendly and it was nice to meet another Jersey girl. We will definitely be back !!
Road-trip to Pawley’s Island Beach for an afternoon of sun, sand and swimming got us hankering for some seafood. Not dressed for dinner dining got us googling for a nearby food truck that led us to The Fish Shak. Located in their new location at Carolina Food Truck Park @ 513 Courtfield Drive, Murrells Inlet along side the Hampton Inn. Fish Shak is seafood made to order with a nice selection of combo baskets of shrimp, flounder, grouper and Mahi-Mahi, tacos, sandwiches, sliders, soups and sides. Our combo XL was a nice serving of 2 lightly battered and seasoned flounder fillets and 6 jumbo shrimp fried to golden perfection with a side of tartar sauce. A heaping of thin potato chip style hand-cut fries and a dill ranch dipping sauce. A side order of hush puppies and we were in dining bliss. Staff were very personable and friendly taking the time to talk with us. The only drawback is the lack of seating with a single table preoccupied. Tables had been ordered but are on back order. But not to be daunted in our pursue of a near perfection outing we wrangled free our beach chairs and balancing take out containers on our laps we took up ownership of part of the parking lot. Dining be damned.

Some of the largest fried shrimp in the inlet. Juicy with great flavor. Not 5/5 stars because for around $15 I expected more than 6 shrimp even with their large size. I haven't had chips like there's a long time, I enjoyed it. Also kind service that did not take long.

Dina is amazing, she is a sweetheart. We had the catch of the day (flounder, trout, and croaker), all caught day prior. Dina made 3 baskets that fed 5 people. The food was amazing. Loved the homemade chips. Definitely would make this a regular spot, if I was a local.
