I have eaten at numerous Korean BBQ restaurants. I have been to Korea and have eaten there. The food was horrible. The quality of meat was atrocious. They used low quality cuts and seafood. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I came to Burnin 99 on 03/24/2024. I went with my 2 children, and my sister. A total of 4z My server was Leo L. As soon as we sat down, he immediately rushed us into ordering. We asked for some rice, he brought us ONE small bowl of rice. For a table of 4 to share. AFTER he bought of that bowl of rice. WE NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN! I noticed that he put PEANUTS in the hotpot. I’m allergic to NUTS ! Immediately I said I didn’t want the hotpot, ONLY the BBQ. I had to get UP & FIND LEO! He was EXTREMELY UPSET. He wanted me to get another hotpot instead of getting what I wanted, which was the BBQ. AFTER he took the hotpot away HE THEN DISAPPEARED with an attitude. He was supposed to come back and change the paper on the BBQ so it doesn’t burn, it ended up burning and HE NEVER CAME BACK TO EVEN CHECK ON US OR CHANGE THE PAPER. At that point we were ready to GO ! Leo was still no where in sight, so we got up to go the manager and explain to her that this experience we had was HORRIBLE. She then caught an attitude with US ! I gave her the $60 for the meal for me and my son. She SLAMMED MY CHANGE ON THE COUNTER. I didn’t even pick it up money. I left it right there and asked her “why didn’t you put the money in my hand?” Her EXACT words “I don’t have change for you anyway” I then told her “your attitude is very nasty for NO REASON” she proceeded to say “well you’re complaining about my attitude but I didn’t say anything to you about changing from hot pot to BBQ only” I said “you shouldn’t had to say anything AFTER I explained to you I was allergic to peanuts” She then tried to show me the “rules” Which I could care less about at that point. Leo was giving EVERY TABLE ATTENTION EXCEPT OUR TABLE! It was a prejudice situation and I did not feel comfortable at this establishment. The reason why we even came here is because this establishment is the ONLY hotpot in Charleston that has the crabbers on the menu. Next time treat everybody equally and not EVERYONE wants peanuts in there hotpot !

My husband & I love this place. It's like our #1 date day out. We enjoy the atmosphere and the food is good. My go too is the ? noodles, and I make my own sauce. The food is good. One thing I wish I would have asked each time we go is for hot sauce. I love that on everything, but it is so good. My hotpot is ALWAYS the spicy one. He tried them all. All is equally good. We will be back!!!!!!

Best Korean BBQ place for the price in charleston area. 843 used to be my favorite but not anymore with all the upcharges etc.
Super friendly staff and a nice buffet to choose from instead of ordering each meat/vegetable. The only downside for me was that they don’t have brisket. I’ve never been to a kbbq without brisket so that was disappointing since it’s my favorite.

My Wife and I walked into this restaurant at 10PM and they refused us because they claimed they “close” at 11:30!They told us we had 13min to eat at 10PM!!!! Horrible service!
