Drove by this place a few weeks ago and it was packed and smelled great in passing. Decided to stop and try it today. I was less than impressed. The hostess seemed less than thrilled that we were there to eat. The seating area was freezing initially because they couldn't get their heaters to work. Once our food came out, the crab was over cooked, nothing tasted seasoned (although there was seasoning in the tray) and it was just an overall let down. Our daughters cheeseburger was good at least. Definitely won't be returning.

The restaurant was not busy and waited 45 min to get a drink. Multiple tables waited for food and after talking to the manager about the service, she had no interest in improving. This is our second time coming and will be the last. The food was not what was expected, the drinks were nothing to talk about. Very disappointing.

Ugh. The drinks were ridiculously overpriced and I feel confident my margarita was just lime juice. My fried shrimp was good but I couldn't eat more than a few pieces on top because the rest was sitting in a puddle of grease so it was completely soggy. So disappointing. Way overpriced for what we got.

I have always had high hopes for this place after passing it year after year. From the road it always appeared to be thriving of folks having a good time and enjoying a good meal. Boy can looks be deceiving! We entered into a tiny, dark atmosphere that looks as though it hasn't been swept or cleaned in months if not years. We were met by a not so friendly lady who pointed us to our table. There we sat and looked at the way overpriced menu and made our selections. The food came out with decent flavor at best and very tiny portions. Everything we ate tasted like it went through a salt bath on its way out the kitchen door. I drank a glass of sweet tea for $3 and never once received a refill. My father had a Coors Light in a bottle that ended being $6 when the bill came. This place is trash from start to finish. I could go on and on with my complaints but I don't want to waste any more of my vacation time on this pi$$ poor establishment. Just know that I won't be back and if anyone reading this cares anything about themselves or their bank account do yourself a favor and stay away!!

We (party of three) went here on a Saturday evening around 7:30pm. There was a 20 minute wait - no problem. The owner let us know about the wait by telling us if we wanted to look online and go somewhere else, that would be ok. Hmmmmm. We waited and ordered drinks from the bar. The bartender said he didn't know how to make any of the margaritas on their menu, nor did he know how to ring them up. Already off to a bad start. We were sat within the 20 minutes and ordered our appetizer and food. We ordered 2 pounds of crab legs at market price (couldn't be that much right?!?), a $22 seafood boil, and a chicken sandwich. When the bill came - it was $160!!!! The 2 pounds of crab legs were $70!!! Why this place is charging $70 for crab legs when all other local places are charging FAR LESS ($40 or less) is beyond me. Definitely ask before you order. Do not assume. The food is mediocre, the service is the same. There are also only about 8 tables available so be prepared to wait... We would not eat here again.

We ordered carryout for our group of 5. The phone experience was good, and the person taking our order read the whole thing back to me exactly as I gave it. When we unpacked the food, though, the sides were all soggy waffle fries even though we had ordered other things. The slaw was inedible - tasted almost carbonated as if it were fermenting. The fried items were good, but the broiled platter was skimpy and rather tasteless. We had dressing for the side salad we had ordered, but no salad. In short, a very disappointing meal. We won't try that again.

Let me start by saying the food was great, very filling but on some dishes it just felt like too much. I had the calamari it was amazing but very hard to finish. The only other thing that we as a family did not enjoy was the crab dip, as well as the nachos. But props to them for making the restaurant fee welcoming.

I really wanted some oysters on the 1/2 shell but they were out. Times are strange, so I understand. I ordered the scallop platter instead with broiled scallops. When it came out, the scallops were the small ones and obviously from a frozen bag. They didn't taste good or have good texture. Two of the girls in my party got chicken strips and couldn't eat them. The fries were very mediocre as well. On a positive note, our server was very kind and attentive.

Great service, amazing happy hour and a classic shack. We throughly enjoyed another visit and we will be back again!!

This establishment misrepresented price of crab legs. Outdoor menu said 21.99 for 1 lb of crab legs. Menu inside restaurant said market price. When asked what market price was waiter said they were new and did not know. Thinking that market price would be around $30 we placed order. Unfortunately our crab legs were $70 for 2lbs. The cocktail sauce was salsa, the fish batter was salty. The point of purchase software shut down and we waited for 1 hour extra and did not get drinks for 45 minutes. Beware visiting this restaurant. Our bill was $400 for terrible food, however the waiter was good. The owners/managers were terrible. This place is looking to rip people off. BEWARE

DO NOT GO!!! Service was horrible!!! The food was disgusting, and I was overcharged way too much money. When I questioned my bill because the sign outside of the restaurant had the prices they told me that sign was incorrect and I had to pay paid $70 per child for crab legs when the sign said 19.00. I ordered the fish tacos and took one bite out of it because it was so fishy tasting back I cannot eat it. My husband ordered a fish sandwich they brought him the wrong meal and he was so hungry that we decided to keep it but it was so salty that he never ended up eating it. When we asked for a cocktail sauce they gave us salsa. The bathrooms were disgusting save your money do not go!!! I did not want to pay For the food but management said they would call the police if I didn't pay. My bill was over 400.00 dollars. I called my visa company immediately and I will be fighting as well. Please save your money and do not go! It's literally disgusting and the management was terrible.

This place USED to be Duffy St. Seafood Shack. They dropped the "Duffy St" part. and added "Original". Their web page says "New Legal Identity". Anyway...party of 9 sat upstairs. Nice server, didn't get his name. He seemed to be taking care of all the tables upstairs. Poor kid..having to run up and down those outside stairs in the pouring rain! The two daiquiri's that were ordered were terrible! Watered down slushies, minimal alcohol...if any. The food was pretty good though. Two of the flounder platters, (though one was ordered grilled but came out fried...still good), fried oyster platter, 2 crab cake platters, a low country boil and three kids cheeseburgers...(huge). All good. Gave it 3 stars due to the awful daiquiri's and the very uninviting non-decorated upstairs room. Neither "fun" nor "friendly" atmosphere that the web page states. Maybe downstairs in the main dining room, but not upstairs.

We went to this place because of past trips and great food but a HUGE LETDOWN this time.. The portions are no where near what they used to be and the food was terrible. Taste of old oil and soggy nachos. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

This restaurant was no where near expectations. The crab legs were very good. Also got a platter of blackened mahi, broiled scallops, and old bay fries. The mahi was very dry, the scallops were over cooked and chewy, and the old bay fries were not old bay fries. They were saltless waffle fries. More like SeaShit Shack.

We went for dinner with our 2- year- old grandson mainly because there was only a short wait. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They made sure to get the little one's food out quickly. Our meals were good and reasonably priced. Great service in a laid back beach Shack atmosphere.
