First time here and we loved it. The service was perfect and the food was delicious. Only thing I wasn’t happy about was that we made reservations for 6:30 and apparently there were a lot of walk ins so when we ordered the filet , they were out of the horseradish mashed potatoes and subbed it for French fries. They said they had run out. . It was early and we had made reservations. But the upside was the crabcake was amazing, no breading at all. The ambiance and decorations are woodsy and the view from the porch is amazing.

We didn’t make it in time to eat, which was a bummer since we drove an hour out and got there 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday but it’s understandable when there’s no customers. I would like to try this place again on a Saturday when they’re open and it’s busy. I hate that we missed out on the food, but the atmosphere istop-notch definitely can see this placeBeing here for a long time .

Mid week dinner with family was very nice, service was very good and the food was quite tasty. Appetizer portions were a bit small for the price, but still yummy. I imagine the price reflected the view and location more than the quality of food. One, maybe two steps above pub grub overall.
i have given several reviews and they are always good. this is our go to restaurant in the northeast. i was sorry to see i had to put my credit card in the reservation system seeing as how we always come! keep up the good work!

Loved the addition of a filet to the steak choices! The Bibb salad with goat cheese fritter was delicious. The upgraded padded booths and chairs and beautiful new tables made the experience even better!

As always, the food was fantastic. Everything was prepared perfectly, service was good and the atmosphere was casual Lake Wateree style. We are fortunate to have The Retreat at Lake Wateree.

Superb menu! The halibut, crab cakes and steak were delicious and presentation was beautiful. Was disappointed half and half was not available for coffee (only) milk. Lovely staff and perfect dining experience for girlfriend group reunion dinner!

Definitely a local gem considering it's probably one of the few restaurants in the area. If you're not familiar with the area, be aware that its located in a scenic area but there are some twist and turns to get there. If you don't like night driving, arrive and finish before sunset. Overall I'd recommend it. Staff was pleasant especially our server. I'm always looking for braised short ribs.

Rotating farm to fork menu so selection stays fresh, while maintaining some delicious staples. Friendly, attentive service. Don’t pass up the cookie skillet or one of the tasty seasonal cocktails.Kid-friendliness: Offers kid menu.
We love this place! The food is fantastic and the service it outstanding. My wife and I try to come at least once a week. Our favorite is to come to Locals Night on Thursday and then come for brunch on Sunday ... THAT is a perfect week.

We recently enjoyed dinner at The Retreat, and my friend and I had a wonderful time! The food was absolutely delicious. I am a sucker for crabcakes, and theirs never disappoint!
