My favs are the quiche, chicken salad croissants and different teas. But all food is good. Friendly staff, good food, quick service. Dining inside and out. They close at 3. We made the mistake of going at 2:30 and they didn't seem very happy about it. I can't imagine working in customer service and not smiling back at customers that were smiling at me. But no matter what we did, the guy taking our order wouldn't smile.Music stops and vacuums start at 3 sharp. My recommendation is not to go at all if you can't be there by 2pm.

The best lunch I've had in YEARS! Turkey on sourdough with clam chowder LOADED with clams! Delicious!

Temp inside is not too cold and not too hot. Great selection of sandwiches that break the mold on a regular deli selection.

I ordered a Reuben and a Converse Deli Chef salad. We'll start with the Reuben. Their Yelp page says they use Boar's Head meats. I have my doubts. When I took my first couple of bites of the sandwich, I thought it tasted odd. It took me a few minutes to figure out why. I could taste the bread, which was toasted/grilled perfectly. I could taste the dressing. I could taste the kraut, which was tasty. There was a total absence of corned beef flavor. Oh, they had a conservative, dense pile of what looked like corned beef. But it wasn't present in flavor. AT ALL. And the corned beef was cold, and weirdly waxy, where the rest of the sandwich was relatively hot. I have NEVER had flavorless Boar's Head meat. I've had a lot of opportunity to eat their brand, and have made my own Reubens with it (as well as delicious French dips with their Londonport roast beef). This was a completely unappetizing and extremely disappointing sandwich, especially when you consider that I paid almost $14.00 for it. It looked, and tasted, like a cheap pile of corned beef you could get at a Walmart or a similar place. And now to the chef salad. For $14.00, I got random lettuce, soggy croutons. TWO slices of tomato, three slices of cucumber, a sad pile of sprouts, some random slices of too-salty ham, and flavorless cheese (and not a ton of either). You folks can't do more than two lousy slices of tomato and three lousy slices of cucumber for what you charge? Seriously? Will I order from them again? NO. I'm not interested in paying top dollar for what's basically lousy, lazy food.

Although the food was very good, service is mediocre & the ambience appears as it did 15 years ago. Worn out tables, chairs & carpets... so drab & dreary

The food is so good! Always has been, think it always will be! One of my favorite spots from med school and my wife went to visit again for old times sake and it did not disappoint! I got the special from the board that day (corned beef Cuban) and highly suggest they make it a regular menu item it was SO GOOD! If you go and it’s an option for you, get it! Love that they use locally grown produce from farmers in the area. Certainly hope they stick around, because we’ll definitely be back!

I used to come here and have good sandwiches. This past time was a disappointment. I ordered the French dip as usual, but this time received a sandwich with one, maybe two small pieces of roast beef, one onion sliver and some watered-down Au jus. For $11:50!!! I'd rather give my money to local businesses but you can do better at Jersey Mike's.

My wife and I ordered sandwiches for take out lunch today. First visit in a long time. The sandwiches were ok — better than some places (certainly better than Subway), but far from exceptional! Sandwiches are VERY overpriced for quality and size. You get the sandwich, 1 oz of potato chips, and a pickle spear. When I went to pay, bill was over $25 which (BEWARE) included a Credit Card Service Fee. This is NOT posted on line or in the restaurant. When you are charging $11.50 for sandwiches that are worth about $7.50 each, there is no reason for these charges. The man working the counter was very abrupt when I asked about it. He was short of being rude, but just very matter of fact and flippant. Also, we noted that NEITHER styrofoam carry-out trays were closed — just put in bag with lids left open. Kind of translates “we don’t care” about your food!

I had not been there in years and it has REALLY gone downhill with worn, shabby carpet and ugly decor. It felt dirty. (And the bathroom was yukky.) When I ordered a club sandwich, I asked that the turkey be replaced with an extra strip of bacon and the cashier said it would cost extra. They even charged my dining partner for extra mayonnaise!! Then, 20 minutes before the deli was to close, someone started loudly vacuuming right beside our table where we were still eating lunch. RUDE! I will NEVER go back to this place again. Ever! I do NOT recommend it.

I’d normally give a higher rating but I ordered the War Eagle yesterday and had the worst food poisoning of my life. Please check the Mayo. That’s the only thing I think it could’ve been.

Similar to other reviews…. I love chef salads and wanted to give this local shop a try! Website menu had $13 as price of the salad, went to pick up order and it was $15. I’m thinking for $15 this salad is about to be the best ever because I’ve had so many elsewhere for less than that price (Groucho’s, Copper River, Clock, Mellow Mushroom, etc). Was highly disappointed to see only two slices of tomato, three slices of cucumber, hardly any meat or cheese. Was 95% lettuce. I don’t mind paying $15 for a salad but it needs to be much more hearty than this one from Converse Deli. I hate to leave a negative review but I had to. Wouldn’t go back, especially given several similar reviews to my experience. Sorry.
