Mozzarella sticks were not cooked all the way so the cheese was room temperature. The burgers were ok but not the best we have had. The price was a little more than what I was thinking for frozen food quality food.

My chili cheeseburger was good...on par with the Beacon, and my fries were hot. ?Would definitely order from Pete's of Spartanburg again.

It's a shame Pete's in Spartanburg hasn't claimed this business on Yelp. But then again, I've read that Yelp won't take fake bad reviews down unless a business subscribes (and pays), so ... that's really crappy of Yelp if it's true. I'd rather not believe that. That aside ... one reviewer said that the place doesn't look like much from the outside, and that's the honest truth. It looks like a total dive. But looks can be deceiving in some cases. I ordered ahead (by phone) and picked up in the drive-thru. The food is messy (greasy). I ordered the onion rings, fried green tomatoes, and a chili cheeseburger. Everything tasted fresh, not frozen or canned, and that's great. BUT. Cooks, STEP AWAY FROM THE SALT SHAKERS. My god. It tasted like everything was cooked on a salt lick. Seriously. And you can't get around a too-strong salt flavor. Moderation, folks. The onions rings were good, if too salty. The burger ... how a chili cheeseburger can taste SWEET is beyond me. But I couldn't get around the salt to really taste what was there. The sweet flavor competed with the salt; I tasted no chili. Disappointing. And the burger was flat, like someone had put a heavy book on it for a while. Weird. I'm not going to fault them for the fried green tomatoes. When I make my own, I do them in flour and butter in a skillet. These have cornmeal and are deep fried, and don't taste right to me. But that doesn't make them badly cooked or wrong. My companion wanted the open-faced roast beef sandwich. They didn't have roast beef. So he then selected the country-fried steak, which the gal on the phone assured me they had. Great. I get there, and I'm told that oops, they don't have that either. They left me a voicemail, but I didn't get it. How can you not know what you have, and if you're a restaurant manager, how can you not have all of the component items for your menu? *sigh* So my companion ended up with the hamburger steak. He said it was good; onions and 'shrooms were fresh, cole slaw was good. He also commented on how much salt was used. While in the drive-thru waiting for my food, I ordered a couple of pieces of cheesecake. Which was missing when I got home. *sigh* I called them ... and I can go get it tomorrow. I can only hope it's not salted to death. Here's the thing: This place has a big selection of food, and good potential. I wish they'd back off the salt, and I may say something to them. Because I'll go back. I think they deserve a second look/taste. Four stars? Yep. One star knocked off for salt.

Their food is always good, but I had never tried their fried chicken. And now I'm obsessed with it. It is dreading just right. Their Mac and cheese is delicious also.

Probably one of the best chili cheeseburgers I have ever had. Chili was so good. The girls behind the counter were so sweet. All around great experience.

It was my first time eating here. I ordered the chicken filet and substituted okra as my side for lunch with a slice of cake... The cake was dry(heavy on the dry). But overall the food is good and fresh. ??

The variety of food at this place is amazing -on the deep-fried side French fries, okra, fish & Real fried chicken & one of the best burgers in a long time! And can actually order items you want your way -which is very rare these days. Home owned restaurants with experienced employees who get a complicated order right!
