The shrimp tacos didn’t have much flavor and if you can believe it too much cheese. I ordered takeout and they literally have an additional charge for it being takeout. Which I totally don’t understand because I called the restaurant to place the order and paid at the register when I went to pick it up. It felt like I was literally paying to do all the work. The food was definitely not good enough to put up with that so I won’t be back.

I ate lunch there today and was very impressed with the quality and huge selection of food. Being a vegetarian, it is not always easy to find so many great choices. Although I didn’t get it this time, I really liked that breakfast could be gotten at lunch! Service was excellent and I would definitely recommend El Jalapeño to anyone wanting great Mexican food. Did I mention that the hot sauce was a plus!

First time visiting El Jalapeño. What a great place. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Lived the chips and salsa. Had a dish made with fresh Scallops and shrimp over Mexican rice with a side of lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream. Very tasty. My husband has shrimp tacos with fresh refried beans and rice. My son had steak burrito with questions on them. Everything tasted fresh . Very family friendly.

My food was very burnt. I had to set aside almost a quarter of my burrito because it was inedible. Queso oddly enough taste like one of those popcorn balls. Salsa was pretty good though. $50 for 2 people with water and queso.

Service was delightful from our bartender. I think his name was Mike? That might be wrong. However, I was sad to know they "denied" me an allergy free meal. I have a crustaceans allergy and they wouldn't cook separately or anything of the sort. My boyfriend said his tacos were good though.
