My boyfriend and I always go to hibachi for special occasions (birthdays, etc). This was our 2nd anniversary and the first time we have been able to go out together in months because of our opposite work schedules. I wanted to go to our usual place in West Ashley, but we were going to a mivie first in Summerville, so he didn't feel like driving all that way.What a mistake. This place basically ruined what had been a nice anniversary up to that point.The table and grill area was not very clean when we were seated;the table.felt sticky.The waiter was horrible. He brought everyone's drinks on a tray he clearly spilled alot on so every drink had gross, wet, sticky bottoms. He gave us sake then proceeded to wait 10 minutes to bring us any cups to drink it with. Same with our sushi; we had to ask the waitress from the other side of the table for chopsticks so we could eat it (by the way, the waitress next to us was awesome, her table sat after us by 10 minutes and had all their stuff earlier like by ALOT). We also waited for our checks and to-go boxes for nearly 20.minutes after everyone wss done plus he overcharged most of us and added wring items in wrong checks.The chef was boring and had no personality whatsoever. Part of the joy of hibachi is the show and we got none, just a guy cooking quietly.The rice ruined the whole meal. It was not sticky like it should be (very dry) and was incredibly salty with bacon. It just didn't taste like Japanese style rice at all. In fact, all the food was way over salted. He barely left the vegetables on the grill but a minute so they were way underdone. He never reviewed out steak orders (which obviously the waiter messed up), so he tried to give me medium like everyone else instead of the well-done I had ordered, then proceeded to burn it because he seemed irritated. The chicken was all dark fatty meat. And half of the shrimp were undercooked as well because he left thwm in a pile and did not spread them on grill dp.some of them did not get done.We left with huge amount of food in our boxes because we just weren't interested in eating it til we can RECOOK IT OURSELVES AT HOME, but sadly I think it will probably go to our dog and the rest in the trash.$110 dinner wasted. $110 is alot for us. We both work in hospitality and that is a big splurge for us, especially to just be thrown away.It ruined our anniversary.

This was my favorite hibachi spot up until today. The gentleman cooking our food had the burner wayyyy too high. It burned the bacon in the rice so you could taste a burnt taste in the rice which was not pleasant. My vegetables were completely raw. The whole process was completely rushed. When I made an unrude complaint about it I was looked at like an idiot by the waiter who said nothing and just walked away confused. The waiter was also very low speaking and unfriendly. We had to wait 20 plus minutes for our food to be remade in the back. Needless to say the food was then remade very bland. We were treated like we did not matter as customers so we will not continue our buisness here anymore.

Been coming here as long as they've been open. Had my first date with my wife here and we go back every week. The staff are great and they just added new bar menu items (2024) that are amazing, but we always come back for the best sushi in Summerville.
