Best chicken salad sandwich in town!

I really wouldn't give it one star but the building is still standing so that's a plus. I needed a birthday cake, checked online for times they are open. Online the website said open Saturday 7:00-1:00. It was 8:15, I drove all the way up there for the little building to be dark as it could be, the hours on the door did indeed say Saturday 7:00-1:00. It was 8:15 and no sign of life or a note on the door explaining when they may reopen.....nothing, very disappointing as they do have good cakes. This is about what you'd expect from a small business in Sumter. Oh well, I'll go to Food Lion

My Mama took me here when I was a child and as an adult, I still get excited for a cookie from here! I love this place!

I work close by and sometimes I will come over for a few donuts. Typically I don't come here because the quality of the food is just not that good. I do like the older ladies who work here, they are always so nice. I am sure twenty years ago this was so good but time has taken a toll I'm sure. Maybe the cakes are great, never tried any of them at all.

Amazing!! I stopped in based on prior reviews and got an assortment of sweets. Cake and doughnuts were light and flavorful. The date and nut merengue cookies are to die for. Wonder if they do wedding cakes. I will be stopping back by to take home more of the mini cakes and cookies for sure. Let me add lemon squares to the list. Yummy!

Ughhhhh this was the worst. And weirdest bakery I've ever been to. Very limited options. There are magazines inside the cookie case for sale. Low/no lighting. It's About what you would expect for this town

Anyone who has ever lived in Sumter knows about Perfection Bakery--the best kept "cake secret" in town. It's a very old-fashioned place, run by old-fashioned owners (Ms. Davis is a sweetheart), with old-fashioned service and old-fashioned cakes. If you like that, this is --including "to do for" white (not yellow) birthday cake made out of real sugar and butter (no Crisco here), this is your sort of place. My children won't eat anything else for birthday cakes, and we still drive back to Sumter from Columbia for every single one, just to get one of these delicious cakes. Don't know what we'll do if they ever close!

Perfection Bakery is a small shop on Liberty, right behind the hospital. They are also listed as Jo-el Sandwich Comppany, but it's not much of either, a sandwich shop or bakery. The sandwich menu is limited to about 10 sandwiches, and the ones we got only had 1 slice of meat each, which I couldn't even taste (they were about $2.25 each). The display case only had about 8 varieties of donuts and cookies to choose from. The two elder ladies were very nice, though.
