I'm sure they do a great job all day long, but I have only been there later in the evening and it is an Oasis for a thirsty and hungry traveler. There is not much open in Pierre later into the evenings. Being able to stop in the Chuckwagon late at night and get not just a drink but some simple and tasty bar food is wonderful. Service is steady, friendly but not always fast. Hard to find folks willing to work late nights in a small city. The folks they have there are great and work really hard. I'm a very occasional out of town visitor and the times I've been there both the staff and the regulars were really warm and friendly.

I stopped in on a Sunday after bird hunting and the blond haired bartender made me feel right at home. The food was good and the service was excellent. The next time in fort Pierre I will

Arrived late at night. Beer was cold. Music was loud. Had an unfortunate encounter with an inebriated customer. Not the best experience. But I'm sure I'll stop back.

Despite relatively low customers, it took a very long time to be served a beer and even longer to close out my ticket.

Service seams to have gone downhill a bit but still a great place for beer and food.

I’d give less stars if it was possible. Beers that were half foam and overpriced food that came out cold. And not once in the 20 ish minutes we were there (sitting at the bar mind you) did our server check back.

The first time we came in was great, server was welcoming and the food was delicious. Went back in expecting the same great experience and it was the worst dine in experience we’ve ever had! Our server Elaine was rude, short worded and knew nothing about their drinks or the menu and offered no help when asked questions she didn’t know about. We ordered 10 wings, and she brought us 5. After promptly addressing that we had ordered the 10 wings, she argued that we ordered only 5 and didn’t offer to correct our order. Instead, when we asked to get 5 more wings she told us we have to pay for 2 orders of 5 wings at full price and she wouldn’t charge us for our original order of 10! At no point was there an apology for her mistake or an attempt to correct and give us what we ordered, nothing but terrible service and horrible attitude! Will not be coming in if we see her on the floor again.

We ordered a 12" pizza, half Ricky's half meat lovers. The Ricky's was amazing, the meat lover was just average. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Chuckwagon is an amazing place to stop if you're looking for a quick bite with quality service, and cozy atmosphere. Their unique pizza options are excellent, and the jalapeño poppers are a great bang for your buck! At the price point, there really is no better place to stop for food & drink in the town of Fort Pierre

Got a chicken bacon ranch pizza was awesome. Also got a cinnamon roll"dessert pizza" and they put mayo on it... ? was gross. Waste of hard earned money.
