It was the opening night of the new season and my husband and I were disappointed that they didn't have what we were hoping to order. However, our food and drinks were very good, the service was prompt and pleasant and the ambience was special.

WOW! This place is a absolute best place I've ever been to. We were just coming back from Mount Rushmore and my blood sugar was extremely low. We left Kearney, NE around 6am and we had breakfast at the Motel. We were visiting on our Honeymoon. My wife has never been to South Dakota or Mount Rushmore. I've been there back when I was knee high to a grassshopper with my grandparents back in the late 80s. On our way to Mount Rushmore all we had to snack on was Beef Jerky we picked up at the Iowa/Missouri State Line on our way to Kearney, NE on the 15th of October. Anyway getting back on subject here, we stopped here at Ruby's House Restaurant and got the 10oz Buffalo Steak. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Mouth watering, tender and juicy. Seasoned to perfection. It was the best steak I've ever had! If I lived in Keystone, SD I would eat here everyday! The service was the absolute best too. The waitstaff didn't play around, they seated us to a table quicker than a Cheetah could spin on a dime and give you 9 cents back.I recommend anyone who is traveling to Mount Rushmore to stop in and get a Buffalo SteakIf we're ever back up that way from Missouri, we will definitely stop here.

This place is pretty cool! When you walk in, you get and instant transport back in time to the late 1800s. The food was pretty good. Service was okay, but once our food was delivered, we never really saw our server again to ask for the things she failed to bring us the first time.If you are around the Mt. Rushmore area, specifically Keystone, stop in here to look around. They have a really nice bar too.

Our waitress was extremely fast and helpful, best service I’ve received from a restaurant. As for the food I had a sirloin steak medium it’s was cooked to perfection, I ordered potato dumpling soup which came out immediately, and the most heavenly steamed broccoli. Best meal I’ve had in a while, my fiancé ordered a buffalo burger that came out looking delicious with a cute flag toothpick. Reasonable pricing at an adorable location that brings back into the past. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality meal!

This place is overpriced and the food is not good, I had a super dry buffalo burger, I’ve had better from McDonald’s $1 menu, my son had a charred filet mignon, it was tough and dry, we hardly ate anything and our server saw that but didn’t even ask if all was ok, the drink waiter was nice and polite, our server was not. You have choices in the area, do yourself a favor and choose anything but this one.

If the decor doesn't turn your stomach, the food will. Plus, a very odd thing: alcoholic drinks are served by another wait staff. So, you have to wait for a second person. The "onion petals" is a cute idea, but not yummy in any way. We tried the place; no need to return.

Western decor was interesting to see. Food was average but our waitress was terrific. She was friendly and welcoming, flagged down the cocktail waitress so we could order a drink. Dinner came out immediately as I finished my salad, felt rushed. I’m glad I went once but wouldn’t return.

Though it was pretty packed, the wait was only 25 mins and they were open until 9 p.m. so we were very happy! We didn't realize everything closed so early. The food came out very quickly too so my pregnant, hangry belly was pleasantly surprised! The Cajun pasta was chef's kiss! Usually with Alfredo sauces they tend to get lost in the noodles but this one was so creamy and rich that did not happen! The pasta also had plenty of chicken, shrimp and sausage and the sauce was not too spicy at all, I was in Heaven. Our server, though I cant remember her name unfortunately, was super sweet and attentive! Also the cream soda was ? We will for sure be back!

Unable to have a table on our first evening due to a waiting time of 45 minutes, but had dinner on the second night. There are wide varieties of menu. We both opted for pasta dishes. It was an adequate serving & palatable. The staff provided a professional & efficient service. What I liked the most is the interior’s mini museum look.

We enjoyed dinner here a few years ago when we stayed at Keystone. We liked it so we visited again on this trip. It is a popular restaurant. I ordered the Indian taco. I was unfamiliar with Indian fry bread last time, but it was tasty. It reminds me of a funnel cake. So it's a beef taco on Indian fry bread. Yum! It is huge and filling! My husband had fish 'n chips. He liked his, as well. Our waitress was Karla. She was friendly and efficient. Best service during our entire vacation!

The food here has a good feel for some western cuisine. I had the ribs with mashed potatoes. They did fall off the bone and were good. Wait time for us was 40 minutes, but we spent that time next door at Red Garter Saloon with drinks and slots.

Funky little pizza joint in the heart of the town near Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Sylan Lake. It’s a great counter server spot off the main drag. The pizza was solid, filling, and fairly priced - about $25 for a large pie. The Hot Rod is perfect for lovers of some heat. Caesar salad made an awesome combo after a long day of hiking.Good alternative to the massive restaurant below it. Otherwise, we would’ve had to have waited 45 min. This counter service joint was snappy. Plus, we could wait on the massive patio while our food was being prepped.

Read about the Ruby House before our trip and really wanted to eat there. So glad we made it for lunch! The food was by far the best we had during our entire 2 weeks in South Dakota! The waitress was friendly and on top of all our needs, the decor of the Ruby House is amazingly beautiful. Wish we had a Ruby House in Iowa, I'd be there ALOT! Thanks so much for the wonderful food and surroundings.
