Had the 12oz Prime Rib. Thick medium rare. Real garlic mashed potatoes. Fresh salad, Blue cheese dressing on the side. Need more dressing, but didn't ask. Green beans were over done. Service was good. Servers were friendly. Price was reasonalble $37.00

Steak was excellent. Definitely would dine here again. Well priced. Filet 8 oz was 29.99 side and salad. Quite and romantic atmosphere.

One of the best Ribeyes I have had. Don’t go anywhere else for dinner in Mitchell. Get the Ribeye and don’t look back. Great service as well.

Dry aged steak. The au gratin potatoes were my husband’s favorite part of the meal and the caramel-sauced sweet potatoes the highlight of my meal. Seemed understaffed. Long waits for food and service.

This is a nice Steakhouse in Mitchell. Servers were very friendly. Food was ok, but nothing outstanding. We had the walleye both pan fried and broiled. Food came out warm but not hot. White wine was served room temperature and not chilled. 80’s music was a little loud for a steakhouse and didn’t match the ambiance. Just an OK spot.

This is a lovely, upscale restaurant ...which you are welcomed at, even if you’re a tourist after a long drive. The owner is upbeat and professional and the food was excellent. The fried Walleye was in a delicate batter that didn’t overwhelm the fish. The escargot was In a slightly sweet sauce, different but still delicious. The rolls taste yeasty and homemade. Excellent service. Wonderful experience, I would definitely recommend.

We were in town to attend an event at DWU. Things turned out very well for us and we felt like celebrating. My companion is always in search of a great steak, so we decided to give this place a try as their menu had more selections than the other steakhouse in town. Our arrival experience was not good. The behavior of the hostess was so odd that we started to leave as she made us feel very uncomfortable instead of welcomed. She asked if we'd rather sit in the bar or the dining room. We always prefer the bar if given the option as we prefer a more relaxed atmosphere to a quiet, stuffy dining room. When we told her we'd sit in the bar she seemed upset and couldn't seem to believe that we'd choose the bar and keep asking, "Are you sure?" a few times, like there was something wrong with the bar and she thought we were making a bad decision. All the while, she was staring at me very uncomfortably. If she didn't want us to sit in the bar why did she ask us where we wanted to sit???? There were several tables available, choices of booth, high topped table, or regular table. Of course, she didn't offer us a regular table, which is what I would have preferred. Then, of all the empty tables she seated us at a dirty one that had to be wiped down. She acted like she was just clueless. I was seriously thinking about just walking out at this point. Finally, our server came and was quick about getting our drinks. The menu is so extensive it took us 10-15 minutes to decide what to order only to be told that they were out of what I wanted. Great!!!! Shouldn't the server had stated up front what they were out of before we pondered over it for so long?? They also did not tell you what kind of soup they had until you ordered and the salad dressing choices are not listed in the menu. You need to know these things to decide if you want to choose soup or salad. They should have had the soup of the day listed on the board when you walked in or had your server tell it to you when you were seated. I had also wanted to try the au gratin potatoes for my side, but the soup was baked potato. I didn't want two servings of potato, so I had to totally rethink my order. I wanted something special, but not too large. The meal ended up being just the right size for my appetite, but only because there was NO way that the steaks were the size they claimed they were. We eat a lot of steaks, and have never been served such small portions anywhere, ever. For the prices charged, you got a small portion. It was elegant, I'll give them that, but was left with the feeling of being a little ripped off on quantity. I decided to order the steak oscar, as I love seafood and thought the description sounded tasty. It was supposed to be an 8 oz. steak but truly could not have been more than 4 oz., 6 oz, at the absolute most. There was NO way that was an 8 oz. steak! At least the steak was cooked as ordered. It was a good cut of meat, but seemed to be lacking seasoning which would have taken the dish from good to excellent. The sauce was good, but there wasn't enough of it to suit me. There was also only a spoonful of crab meat in the topping. I had expected a LOT more. I had also expected more than just one spear of asparagus when it said it was topped with asparagus. They didn't lie, it was topped with a asparagus. Anyway, the soup was delicious, the sides were delicious, the bread and honey butter where very good, and it was nice that the salads are served with the dressing on the side. The food was good enough to recommend, just be warned that the portions will be on the small side. Our server was friendly and attentive but needs more training, and the hostess, flat out needs to go.

I tried the grilled chicken and other party tried the salmon. Nice size portions. Ambiance is nice. Family owned for many years. Customer service is great.

Amazing baked goods made by a very nice lady.

Had filet Oscar, baked potato, salad with French, cape codder to drink. Johanna provided great service, all food came to table as ordered. Agree with other reviews about lack of steak seasoning, was ok, just didn't thrill my taste buds. Sat in the lounge to watch football game, spoke to many friends and acquaintances. Just the ticket on a Saturday night. Thank you Heidi for making me feel welcome.

Louie’s offers a white napkin experience on one side or a come as you are lounge and bar on the other side. The steaks are excellent. My favorite dish was the shrimp cocktail appetizer. These offered 6 huge crisp shrimp. The server was very attentive. The walleye fillet is a good size and texture, but could use a little more seasoning. Prices are a bit high for family events, but great for business meetings or couples.

When you’re driving through cattle country, you can’t help craving a great steak — in a local establishment where knowledgeable meat eaters go. Chef Louie fills the bill. It’s been a local favorite for decades. We could tell by all the hunters at the tables. Not only is the steak delicious but dinners include salad and sides. All for a reasonable price. Terrific service, too.
