We were in town to watch my daughter sing at the Capital. I was with my mom and my two younger kiddos. When we came in at lunch time there was a sign to seat yourself. We chose a table away from the other guests because I know sometime small children can be noisy and we were trying to be respectful of other guests. One of the wait staff came over and very aggressively asked if anyone else would be joining us. When we said no it would be the four of us. She told us we had to move because we didn’t have enough people in our party to occupy one of these corner tables and she just walked away. We moved to a different table for four… it was very embarrassing the tone in which she talked to us especially infront of other guests. If you have certain requirements for seating why do you have a sign to seat yourself? We were never offered a high chair or booster seat for my younger kids. I happen to come across them when I went to the bathroom and brought a high chair to our table myself. We ordered a half salad, bowl of soup, and a kids pizza. We waited almost 40 minutes for our food and there were only three other tables at that time two of which had their meals already and lots of staff. The food was good and the restaurant atmosphere was nice. But the service was honestly horrible. We will not be back and as a travel agent I will not recommend this establishment to my clients.

My flight was delayed for a day so I ended up having several glasses of Pinot Grigio with a Salad Niçoise…wow this place is cozy, my fiancé and I were romanced by its classic charm. I forgot the brand of the wine but it was supple and light with a nice Granny Smith note I kept coming back for. If I ever come back to Pierre, I will certainly come back here! (:
I don't even like pasta but goodness that was delicious!!! Guess I haven't had real pasta until I tried this place!

Great meal and service! Well worth the price and six hour drive.
My husband and I were traveling through Pierre and stumbled upon La Minestra. We were tired and treated in a manner that lightened our moods and helped lift our spirits. The salmon and chicken parmigiana were perfectly prepared. We learned a bit about the history of the building which enhanced our experience. I highly recommend La Minestra.

We ate here for our anniversary and both had pasta dishes. While the dishes were good, both sauces were a little bland compared to what we're used to for Italian dishes. They are also quite pricey for what you get so I'm not sure we would eat here again if we're ever in Pierre.

Great food! Friendly and profissional waiters. Very knowledgeable. Easy street parking. Female bathroom was clean and nice. Male bathroom was uninviting.Prices were reasonable. There was numerous specials were available in addition to the menu items.
Get the special. Whatever it is and you won't be disappointed. Great place with an amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
