Every time we go through Rapid City SD always stop here. Easy parking, good location, and love sitting in a booth at a window. Usually never over crowded so able to get through the prep area without a long line. Always good food and service. We'll be back:)

My wife and i came to HuHot Mongolian Grill on Saturday December 2, 2023 for dinner. When we got there we waited at the host stand for a few minutes to get seated. Then once we got seated the server greeted in a timely manner and was very friendly. My wife and i proceeded to go through the food line and to the grill. After we got our plate of food and returned to the table. I took a bite of my breaded chicken and sausage and they were both cold and not even warm. We told the server and manager of this. We went to the grill a second time and when we got to the grill told the cook about the food being cold. The cook said i got this. He put our food on the grill and cooks it. We get back to the table to eat and when i go to take a bite i notice the chicken is raw and not cooked all the way. I ask the server to speak with the manager. The general manager comes out and i tell her whats going on and she acts like its no big deal. Doesnt say sorry for the experience or nothing. Just says i will have a talk with the cook. I call and ask to speak to a district manager and was told to call the corporate office. I call the corporate office and no one answers. I left a message but have not received a phone call back. As a former lead cook/trainer for HuHot Mongolian Grill, it makes me sad to see how the restaurant that I halped open and train be ran this way. The managers dont care and they dont even come around do table checks to see how things are going. All you see is the manager worrying about doing prep in the back. My wife and i have eaten here several times over the past couple years and it never seems to get any better. In fact it seems to be getting worse. The food line and grill areas are not kept clean like they should be nor are the bathrooms. Its very sad to see such a good company with a great food concept be ran so poorly. I would love to help change things around if i could. The Rapid City location needs to have all employees re-trained and shown how the place is supposed to be ran and how the food is supposed to be cooked. Would love to receive a call back from the company. Thank you.

The food is subpar as the meat that is provided for choice at the self-serve bar is dry and unappetizing after receiving it back once cooked. It's apparent the location is older with outdated decor. The management and server encountered at this time were the bright spots of the visit as their customer service was far exceeding the atmosphere and food quality provided.

We were there a half hour without knowing who our server was so we started asking for things from everyone that walked by until finally our assigned server revealed themselves. After that service was great!!!
This was the cleanest and honestly best HuHut I have been to. The buffet bar was clean and the sauces were not spilled all over the place.

I usually love this place. I first tried it in Colorado and was full of excitement when one opened in Rapid. I live out of town and with having kids I don't get to come to Rapid as often as I did without them. So with this new rare visit I picked huhot to eat for lunch. As usual the hostess sees us and sits us. Talking no louder than the speaker. Of course coming from out of town I need the restroom and it always feels dirty in there. Like it looks clean but maybe the darkness makes if feel... gross?. I love the options for food but more especially the sauce! If you know me I am the sauce queen when I go there. When they pure out my 2 bowls it's just one big circle of sauce. Well today the cook just let my food sit there and went to the first person in line and Mixed there food. Ran to the few people behind me and back to the first people. Then finally mine. One mix and back to the people behind me. Next thing I know he adds a lot of water to my food. Not a little to help with sauce unsticking from the top but A LOT of water. My food was so bland I didn't even taste any of my sauce. I was really sad, and thought I could ask for more sauce to help it. It didnt.. at this point it was just a soup. A very bland soup. Hopefully next time I come in it tastes better. But to the reviews it seems as it might not..

Waitress tended to forget about us quite a bit never asked if we wanted anything else until we were ready for our check. , and got charged dinner rates even though we were there before dinner times.

We came in early this evening (~5pm) for dinner, waited for a host and while we listened to the debate about which server should get the next table, we observed the food all over the floor and counters around the ingredient bar. Then, we sat at our table for a while, ventured to the restrooms which weren't clean, and our server still hadn't come by our table - it wasn't super busy and we're generally pretty patient, but ended up leaving and heading to another cleaner place nearby.

Read more customer reviews about hygene problems. Server brought us waters (tasted like dish water), 1 set of silverware, and 1/2 small bowl of rice for the whole table. Never heard from again until time to pay. Food was edible, marginally, due to us being super hungry. All meats to choose from are frozen and chipped aside from imitation crab and some sort of fish bits sitting in water. Bathroom.... disgusting. Toilet paper everywhere and urine all over the floors around all toilets.
