“My wife and I stopped here while on a motorcycle trip, just to wet our whistle. What a nice brewery it is! I had the Pile o' Dirt Porter it was dark, rich, roasty, and delicious, exactly what i like in a porter. My wife had a Bugling Bull Amber Lager with nice color and a crisp, clean finish. She enjoyed it very much too. Both beers were cold and refreshing. The barkeep was prompt and friendly. Just know there is no table service here, you gotta order your suds at the bartop, which is plenty easy enough. I highly recommend this spot, and I would definetly stop here again! Great beer and a beautiful location!! ?????“

Let's talk atmosphere. 5/5 nice area, some local photos and art, some sound dampening on the walls is always a great choice, big open front windows on a gorgeous 80 degree day? a dinosaur with balloons??? I mean come on, that's enough to warrant the 5 stars right there, but wait! There's more. I could have told you their beer was great before, but what I didn't realize is how they'll revisit tried and true recipes and mix it up and create new familiar flavors. Tangerine bobcat! I'm looking at you. And since the kitchen opened up? It's easily become a must visit location in spearfish. The Balboa flatbread and cheese curds became the highlight of my wife and I's day. We'll be back, and we hope to see you there. It was well worth the stop.“

“One of our go-to's in the Spearfish area. Excellent beer and pizza. Lovely scenery with the river out back. Cozy interior. Wait times and service can be hit or miss, but only when the place is at max capacity, which is pretty normal for any bar/restaurant. So, any complaints regarding wait times are from unreasonable whiners. The addition of their Coffee line is most welcome, as are the breakfast pizzas. Bean prices are shad steep, but it's worth it to spoil yourself and buy local every once in a while, IMO. My wife and I like to bring newcomers, and they always leave with a smile. The owner is upbeat, and always friendly. We are very fortunate to have such an awesome establishment in our little community. Thanks!“

“My wife and I were in town on vacay and our AirBnB was right up the street. We stopped in Thursday night for a few drinks and Saturday night for their Pumpkin Release. What a fantastic little Brewery. Nick, the owner, is a fantastic human that makes fantastic beer. Of all the breweries that my wife and I stopped out in Lead, Hot Springs, Deadwood, Spearfish, Rapid - Dakota Shivers was by far the best. Great conversations, great beer, great people. A must go-to if you're in the area!“
