Girlfriend and I went for my birthday to try something new, the lighting, music and fruit that came with the water was really cool however I ordered a rye and coke first thing and the waitress didn’t know what that was, my girlfriend ordered the dill pickle ceaser, our drinks didn’t come until after our main courses. The girlfriends burger was mushy and her salad was very old and rubbery.I ordered the fish and chips with the spiral fries, the fires were great however my fish didn’t seem right. I ate half of it and couldn’t bring myself to eat the rest. I woke up the next morning with food poisoning and had to head home cutting our weekend short.

We got all you can eat ribs on Saturday. The price was good. The food was good. I wasn't fond of the alcohol drink I got (Paddington), but that's a me thing. It was quiet. Which I enjoyed. The only part about the ribs I didn't enjoy was that after the first helpin, they make the subsequent ones smaller. And take a really long time to come. I also believed the salad could have had a bit more variety in it.

My husband and I have lived in Moose Jaw for 18 years, ate and ordered from numerous establishments and I have never been compelled to leave a bad review, however, our experience here at Golden Lux was so awful I felt it was my duty to share our experience in hopes that we can save others their hard-earned money and time.On February 13th, 2024, my husband decided to take me out for an early Valentine’s Day dinner. Having two young children we don’t often have an opportunity to go out to eat, so I was delighted. He pulled up outside of this establishment and my first reaction was that I was excited to try something new. We were the only ones in the restaurant, the ambience was nice, and we were greeted right away.We decided to go with the calamari for our appetizer, it came out burnt, however, anyone who knows me can vouch for me when I say I am the least picky eater known to mankind, therefore, I ate most of the order thinking ‘it can only get better from here’. Mid-way through our appetizer the music shut right off so we sat in dead silence for the remainder of the evening.Our main dishes came out shortly afterward, I had ordered a beef noodle dish which was the special that night and my husband ordered an 8oz steak. The noodle dish was saturated, and by saturated, I mean it looked like soup – there were soggy peas and noodles floating around in it, I thought to myself ‘maybe this dish tastes better than it looks’, and boy was I wrong, the sauce was sweet and overbearing, I couldn’t even fathom putting another bite into my mouth. Not once in my entire life have I ever sent a dish back to the kitchen, not once in 40 years - this was a first for me. The server did offer to bring me something else instead, but after seeing my husband’s ‘steak’ which looked like a piece of meat that had been pounded by a mallet into a 2cm thick piece of grizzle my appetite was gone. He felt so bad that I had sent my food back that he choked back what he could of his.We requested our bill so we could go home and eat something, and my repulsive dish was charged in full. Rather than causing a scene we paid the bill, including a tip and left knowing we would never return. Later in the evening my husband started experiencing severe abdominal cramping and was up sick the entire night. This was by far the worst dining experience we have ever had. I did see some better reviews and tried to imagine what they might have ordered, maybe just drinks? I’m not too sure but if you’re hungry I would definitely explore other options!

They stood around behind the counter most of the night and didn't check in on tables (there was our table of 5, and 1 other table of 4).Found the lighting rather dark (low) to read a dark background menu, and we used flashlights on phone to see them.Parking: Paid street parking till 6pm, then free after.

Great experience tonight at Lux for the first time ! We came for the New year's Eve dinner three course meal, the meal started out with a couple of appetizers we had spring rolls dipped in a sweet Thai chili sauce which was very good and after eating that I said we are coming back here again. For appetizers for dinner I had the chicken cordon bleu Shelly had the spinach dip we each tried both and both were really good . Next both of us had the rib-eye steak mine medium rare Shelly's well done and both of which were very good we both enjoyed the steak and the potatoes and curly fries that came with it . Next up was desert I had the caramel eggnog cake Shelly had the chocolate cake I'm not quite sure of the actual name of it but they were both cheesecake and both were excellent . How to regular Caesar which was fantastic and with all that the bill came to just over $100 and was well worth it and will be spending our Valentine's dinner there .
So relaxing and stress free restaurant. Great food. No rushing.
