Something has really changed food is old and cold, precooked and warmed up on grill or ?? turkey fried?? bacon old and cold and hard. greasy dirty cooks visable from the dining area. So sad Nicky use to take such pride in everything, those days are gone.

All good things change, have been going to Nicky's for years and loving every visit but things have changed, dirty unkempt cooks standing visible to the dining room.. I ordered my favourite lemon rice soup to find that it was watery had celery in it and very little if any lemon flavour in it. I had turkey also my favourite was was put on the grill and not steamed but actually fried to dry and ordered fries which were old and cold and don't ask about the vegetables, very disappointed. I thought I would take some frozen meals home, thinking that they might be ok, so sad potatoes that were half of the compartment, come on fill it up. The waitresses were the usually accommodating. service oriented the kitchen is totally lacking. Miss the old days.

Eggs Benedict had the most horrible "hollandaise" sauce that was truly inedible. I pulled out my eggs and scraped off the pale yellow sludge to try and eat something. It was not even a hollandaise sauce but some strangely thick textured flour-ey ick. The tomatoes on the side were pale hard tasteless things that should be served to no one. SO disappointing, and this was not the first time I have had bad food at Nickys. The servers and manager woman do not care if you have not touched your meal, no one asked how things were, could I get you something else? I am never returning.

In an attempt to encourage members to attend our meetings the chair decided that we should meet at Nicky's Cafe at 7:30 am for breakfast. Those present enjoy the generous portions of ham, which is always tender and mild, 2 eggs, cooked in various ways, and some prefer tomatoes or pancakes to hashbrowns. The coffee is always hot, and a pot is left on the table. No matter how busy they are, the servers are invariably pleasant.

In the city for a day or errands and shopping, and had been waiting for an opportunity to try here for lunch. Kind of an old fashioned diner kind of atmosphere, but bright and clean and attractive. Hostess was kind of sober, but our server was very good - quick and efficient with lots of genuine smiles. Extensive menu in addition to all day breakfast, so hard to make a choice. Food was a bit slow coming out, but with the explanation there had been a technical glitch of some kind so it was okay. Our meals were both very good, attractively plated and tasting as good as they looked. The house specialty lentil soup for a starter was great. Our sober hostess was at the till when we settled the bill, but .... Totally recommend stopping here.

This restaurant is 5 minutes from The General Hospital. If you need an awesome meal for a loved one at the hospital, they do takeout. If you need an awesome meal while you take a quick break from the hospital, this is the place. They have convenient take home frozen TV dinners z. Frozen soups and more. I wish I had found this place sooner. They dinner we had was enough for two meals and it was awesome.

Regular stop for the fish and chips here! Great flavor and always fresh. The burgers are pretty good too.

I enjoyed dinner with a Monte Cristo sandwich with delicious fries. The Monte Cristo is the loaded with ham, turkey & swiss cheese and is the best I've tasted. The service is always friendly and always great.

Just returned to live in Regina after 22 years away and the first place I went was “Nicky’s”. Best home made food anywhere. Staff always friendly, food especially breakfast, and the cutlets are my absolute favourites. They were great 20 years ago and still are great. Way to go guys!!!!!
