During a recent outing in Saskatoon, my wife and I decided to duck into Second Cup for a quick bite and some coffee before catching a movie nearby. The cleanliness and tidiness of the store immediately caught our attention upon entering. It's always a pleasant surprise to walk into a well-kept café, where you can tell the staff takes pride in their environment. While the area does have a noticeable presence of homeless people, which can be a bit unsettling, especially for women, our overall experience within the café itself was great. However, one thing that could have enhanced the atmosphere further would have been some background music. The café was equipped with speakers throughout, yet, surprisingly, no music was playing. A little background jazz or acoustic could have added that extra layer of ambiance to make the experience perfect. On the note of expenses, I observed that the food and drink prices seemed to have gone up since my last visit. My order alongside a few snacks easily surpassed the $30 mark. This isn't entirely unexpected given the general rise in food costs, but it was still a bit of a sticker shock. Additionally, the tipping system now prompts for a tip on every transaction, with 15% as the lowest option. While I understand the importance of tipping, I find this expectation a bit much for simple café transactions. It undeniably made our snacks feel significantly more expensive.Despite these nuances, the highlight of my visit was trying the Blue Butterfly Latte. It's a unique concoction made with blue matcha, and I am absolutely obsessed with it! Not only was it delicious, but it was also visually stunning. It's these kinds of unique offerings that make a visit memorable and special. In conclusion, our visit to Second Cup was a decent experience. Despite some areas for improvement, such as the lack of music and the high cost with tipping, the quality of the beverages, especially the Blue Butterfly Latte, would bring us back. It's a cozy spot for a pre-movie coffee and snack, and we look forward to our next visit, hoping perhaps for a little background melody to complete the ambiance.Rating: 4.5/5

I went there this Saturday as I am new to this city and wanted to try to get something cold,I hate to say this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The drink I got was just like water with ice, there was no flavour, attempts were made to have a new one made, but was disappointing. Please stay clear from this coffee shop.

Stopped in just for a hot drink. We had a hot chocolate and a maple latte. Prices are reasonable. Very big customer seating area. Good selection on foods if you are in need of a snack. It has lots of seats available. The place was clean and it had a perfect studying atmosphere. I think since new management has come around, this location has gotten better. I will come back for sure.

Totally unprofessional owner don’t even pay their employees on time. I think people should stop giving tips there as the owner is just keeping it for her own sake.

Probably the dirtiest washroom i’ve seen for a coffee shop, The food and drinks itself I think are a little over priced. Nothing special. Good location for downtown.

Honestly for the price I would not waste your money, just go to starbucks. I have tried a few of their sandwiches and they were so bad I couldnt eat it had to throw it out. Their coffee is watery. I have waited for 10 mins for a bagel toasted with cream cheese before. Their baked goods are mediocre at best. I wouldnt waste your money. I remember liking second cup years and years ago but i feel like i am wasting my money at this point.

I didnt have a great experience, the iced matcha latte I got wasn't mixed well, had chunks of matcha, and the barista wasn't friendly. Honestly curious if they pay their employees well enough, I got minimum wage minimum effort vibes.
