We always ordered here for delivery. We used to love this restaurant. Were pretty much their regular customer. But this past year, we saw the changes on their food serving. It's getting worst and worst. Poor quality now. Not enough meat, it's all veggies, more on celery, onions and too much sweet. I can count how many meat in there and tiny pieces meat. You can't taste the real taste of the food. It's pretty much all the same. Why is that? I know everything is expensive now. You want to keep your customer. You still have to deliver the great food service. Were not happy with the quality of their food.

My small Wonton soup had about 10 decent sized wontons in it and it was delicious. Staff didn’t really want to be there it seemed and asking for a tea was an obvious put out but we enjoyed the experience nonetheless. Bathrooms were in good condition and I specifically appreciated the decent toilet paper, little things like that make a big impression.

The Reviewer's Diary

I recently visited Tong's Wok Chinese restaurant and my experience left much to be desired. Despite ordering chicken fried rice and Szechuan chicken, I was disappointed by the lack of chicken in both dishes. The chicken fried rice was particularly egregious, as it contained no chicken at all. Even though I paid $30, including tax, the value was not reflected in the quality of the food. The Szechuan chicken was overwhelmed by vegetables, with minimal chicken and lacking the promised spice. Despite the ease of ordering and navigating the well-made website, the food itself was subpar. I found the lack of flavor and meat disheartening, especially considering the reputation of Chinese cuisine for bold flavors. In summary, while Tong's Wok may excel in convenience and website design, the lackluster food quality leaves much to be desired. I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant based on my disappointing dining experience.

We discovered Tongs almost two years ago and have eaten there about 5 or 6 times now (last night being the latest). As usually, we left fully satisfied!Love that we can sit down and be eating within ~20 mins--despite a variety of dishes being ordered!Food... We have begun trying a new dish every time we eat here and last night the 'Red Pepper Chicken'--a nice blend of heat (spice) and flavour. Always receive big dishes and have lots of leftovers to take home.Prices... for a family of five, we typically pay upwards of $110 to eat, but Tongs we can eat for slightly more than $75 AND still have take-home for the next day.Service... always friendly & fast; water/drinks rarely stays empty for long.Seating... small tables for 1-4 people all the way to big, round, lazy Susan equipped, tables for ~8 (possibly more) people.Have read a few of the bad reviews here and, as of yet, haven't experienced any of those issues. Have had the ginger beef (another reviewer commented soupy) and ours did have heavy sauce (not so much like their pic showed) and, yes, was different than other places ginger beef, ie not as crispy here & more sauce by far (not our number one choice, but we do re-order as flavour is fine). And yes, we've see tomatoes? in it and thought it was strange but didn't affect flavour in any bad way. This place reminds me of the Chinese food places from my childhood--big flavour, giant egg rolls, massive chicken balls & great fried shrimp that aren't greasy, and consistent sauce-dishes.

Tried to stop here for dinner at 7:20 on a Friday and was told it was closing. Hours listed for 10 which I would think is enough time to sit down and eat but I guess not..

Had lunch here on Feb 4th 2024 and the regular wonton soup was excellent and we ordered the daily special and you can substitute items so that was convenient and the meal was fast and delicious and reasonably priced for the 3 of us to dine in at the restaurant. We will be back for sure whenever we are in Saskatoon. Excellent wonton soup here.

We have been going to Tong's since the 1990s. The food was great which is why we been eating there for so long. Lately, for the past couple of years, the food has been becoming tasteless and soggy. Today, I ordered hot pepper chicken, chicken chowmein, and sweet and chicken balls. The chowmein noodles were soggy and had no taste. The hot pepper chicken had more fried rice noodles than hot pepper chicken, it wasn't even spicy. Another below par dish. The worst was the chicken balls, they were the normal size but when I bit into one. The chicken was about a couple millimeters and rest all dough. What the heck, it was great to eat there because of the great, not anymore for the past couple of years. Blech.

The other half and I were hungry and the first thing I thought of was Tong's Wok on 51st. The other half ordered deep fried chicken rice with shrimp and chicken balls. I ordered their special wonton soup small with a side order of rice. I should have ordered their large soup. The waiter was polite and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive...

Serves me right for not reading reviews first... although I can't say anyone in their right mind would expect "crispy ginger beef" to contain large chunks of tomatoes, celery, and come in so much sauce it may as well be soup. It's certainly not crispy, I don't taste any ginger, and the pieces of tomatoes are larger than any of the beef. I will not return.

Ordered here twice now on business trips to Saskatoon. Last order was very good for sure. Tried some new things tonight and dinner was phenomenal. Was worried about the hot pepper chicken, description was a bit vague. Wow, glad I did, sort or a cross between ginger chicken and sweet and sour, with orange and yellow peppers, pineapple and other veggies. Was excellent. Special chop suey, and mushroom egg foo young. Lots left for lunch tomorrow!

We have my ever had a problem with Tong's Wok but tonight's order was wonderful. It showed up before the estimated delivery time. It was hot, hot as though we were sitting in the restaurant. Delicious, wonderful job again, Tong's Wok!
