“My family and I were looking for a place to eat on our way to Kentucky to visit the Noah's Ark Encounter and happened upon El Jinete. They are located in strip mall type place. The outside looks according, but is just as nice as a stand alone building.Inside is nice and decorated well. They had a packed house...for a Friday night I expect this was probably normal for them. We walked in and they immediately sat us even though they don't have much room (tables very close together). They quickly served us and kept good attention on us without too much. Food had a good flavor, especially for AmeriMex (American Mexican) food. The chips and salsa have a good flavor, not overpowered by the tomato. My wife had the Nachos Fajita Jalisco, my little girl rice and beans, boy chicken tenders and fries and I had the Choriqueso (cheese dip with jalapeños and chorizo) and salsa tomatillo. Most places don't charge for the spicy salsa, but they did here ($1). Decent value for the money. Only drawbacks for my family and I is that it also has a bar and the closeness of the seats. We were basically sitting with another family. We'd most likely return here again if we were in the area. Apparently, others think so too. They have 2 other locations. No military discount offered.“
“On a family trip to Chattanooga.. my 12 person group was quickly accommodated. There was one server on a lunch afternoon on a Tuesday. We stumbled upon this place after a Mayfield Ice Cream tour nearby. We had plenty of appetizers and ordered a healthy sized lunch portions. The queso was great, the chips were not stale or anything else bad to report. There were fountain drinks and great fajitas.. tacos.. burritos.. and burrito bowls.I am from Miami and it was just as good as anything I’ve had there. I can’t complain and for a group of 12 we paid $167.00… about $14 a person and that is much better than the $35 a person I would’ve paid in MIA.Service was friendly and had a great time :)Vegetarian options: Of course they had veggie options and anything can be made without meatParking: Street parking and a lot in walking distance.“
“This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Athens. Good portions, excellent sauces, and the best service. We always have a good experience when we go. I always get the Mexi Tacos, which are authentic tacos with steak, onion and cilantro on two stacked soft corn tortillas with green hot sauce.“
