I had the honor of attending a luncheon today for veterans widows. We had a wonderful speaker and it was my first time attending. However, I was very disappointed when I got to the counter and discovered that an 18% gratuity had been added to everyone's meal. We all sat in the same room together but were not all on the same check. The waitress never came back again one she delivered our meals. The staff has always treated me well. The menu has a wide variety of items, my favorites are the chicken tenders, coconut shrimp and BBQ. The service is usually fairly quick and ask for the bread while waiting. They have beer on tap, but no liquor or bar. There's a senior menu on Thursday I think, but you have to eat in. My wife and I have lived in Athens for about a year and a half and finally stopped at Michaels for the first time today. I am a little upset that we haven't been told by our neighbors that this is a wonderful little jewel. Our waitress was super prompt and the food was top notch. Would highly recommend and will be returning again soon.
