When it comes to ordering food at Thai Basil, as most have said in the comments, it definitely is a game of Russian Roulette. So if you’re in the mood for some pho and non-fried spring rolls, then I’d say that Thai Basil is for you. However, if you’re craving stir fried dishes, then I’d recommended going to a place that doesn’t use quite as much oil in their dishes. At least here at Thai Basil, the hosts and servers are very kind and patient, especially when it comes to reserving your seats online. Also, I like their portion sizes, which makes the prices justifiable.Would I recommend it? Overall, yes, especially if you enjoy having mint inside your spring rolls and are trying to get the most bang for your buck. Otherwise, don’t be disappointed if you didn’t felt like you ordered the “right dish.” Either way, food and services are good. :)

We dined in yesterday and unfortunately there was some eggshell in my brother-in-law’s fried rice. Not the end of the world. The waitress apologized and took it back. They brought the remake out pretty quickly. He was still too disgusted to eat, so we just packed it to-go. Today he goes to eat and come to find out either the cook just has the worst luck and got eggshell in the “re-make” or he never remade the order. $80+ plus tip for our meal. Ridiculous.

Excellent service! Fantastic food! Superb atmosphere! Abundant portions! First class and first rate restaurant! My go-to place for Thai food in Memphis!

The spring rolls are awesome. Plenty large with shrimp, cucumbers and many other ingredients. I could make a meal with those! The Thai Chicken Noodle soup was fantastic. Plenty of chicken. The noodle were interesting thick and kind of gooey. Like dumplings. They were delicious! I highly recommend Thai Basil Restaurant.

We ordered chicken satay, spring rolls, tomyum soup and Thai basil fried rice. Everything was yummy. Prices are reasonable and the portions are pretty large. Highly recommend!

A 5-star experience at my new favorite Thai restaurant in the city.We had the Pad Pak, which was a stir-fried blend of vegetables in a brown sauce, as well as the Chef's Fried Rice with tofu, which had a blend of veggies involved as well. Having both omnivorous and vegetarian-friendly paths you can take with these dishes is an attractive feature - not to mention the large portion sizes. The service from Brandy was fantastic, and she informed us of the locally grown fresh vegetables that were included, as well as letting us know that the owners of this small business have their geographical roots in Laos. Will definitely be returning, as the food and service was excellent.Vegetarian options: A large percentage of the menu has vegetarian-friendly options

I picked up an order of chicken Pad Thai there recently and I requested that it be "spicy." So good and nicely spiced.

Big fan of Thai food. Having recently moved to the area I was certainly eager to try. For my first visit I brought a family member and right off the back observed the dingy setting. Even so, that's expected with these sorts of establishments; the aroma was at least appetizing. Moreover, we ordered the red and yellow curry, they were served with an abundance of vegetables. Although, I had to specifically ask for extra chilis from the kitchen as the ones available for self serve were sticky and had hair on the dishes, obviously unsanitary. All in all, the food was great, fairly priced, and while the waitress didn't say much, she was nice and attentive. However, the second visit was an entirely different experience. I had brought a different family member this time to whom had a potato allergy. We ordered the red curry and masaman, and requested the potato be substituted with a different veggie. The waitress (Brandy) different from the last, simply looked at us as we had done something wrong. We had also asked her for input on which would be more suitable, masaman or yellow, she said she didn't know as she doesn't eat that kind of food, which struck me as odd considering her profession. She proceeded to then mumble about how they were mixed vegetables before rudely walking off. When she returned I explained my previous experience with the unsanitary self serve chilis and once again requested some from the kitchen, Brandy then blurted out "I just changed them", I once again explained my concern before she finally huffed off to the kitchen. She brought about four different kinds of spices out to the table before she figured out what "crushed red chilis" were. I feel like a waitress should be at least informed about what she is attempting to serve while also displaying an attitude fitting of customer service as one would think it would be exactly that. While the food was no doubt good, the place was unsanitary and the second experience with Brandy left the question of whether or not to return.Dietary restrictions: Did not seem willing to accommodate allergy.

I get the soft shell crab green curry every time I go into Memphis. SO GOOD!!! Glad the dining room is open again cause boy it was awkward eating that in the car on the way home cause it smelled so good I couldn’t wait lol ☺️

Absolutely delicious Thai food!! I had the fried vegetable egg rolls and the chicken pad Thai. I mean… really, really good. Server was very nice and attentive as well! And the prices were decent especially for the big portions. Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely be back here. My mouth is watering just thinking about it now ?

I had better hopes just because of the name but definitely a hit or miss. I ordered shrimp fried rice it had a burnt flavor and mildly looked unpleasant the shrimps weren't fried at all, just placed in the rice. I've had better pho, bean sprouts were definitely going bad. My rice was drowning in green onions.

Got the Pad Thai with shrimp and the thai vegetables and tofu soup. Gotta say it was pretty good and the portions were fair. Will definitely be going back

My first time to eat Thai food! It was awesome. I had the garlic pork chops and my husband had the shrimp and scallop fried rice. Both were delicious and large portions. Also has wonderful service. Definitely will be back!

We are new to the area and looking for good food. My family loves Thai so we gave them a shot. I’m so thankful we did because their pad thai, red curry, massaman curry, and garlic pork chops are AMAZING! We have dined in and called in orders. I read other reviews and was a little leery at first. But we have come here many times and been impressed with the food, flavor, and service! It’s safe to say I am addicted! Chicken pad Thai with the thick peanut sauce ??? is beyond delicious! This place gives me cravings!!
