What a great place this is with all the great employees and history. The food is absolutely delicious. Eat in or take out your choice, either way you will be pleased with all the great food to choose from. I personally give this place a 2 thumbs up. Stop in and try it out I think you will just as pleased as I was/am.

My husband and I have been coming to Chattanooga recently on business and I stumbled upon Flatiron Deli one afternoon while waiting for him to get out of a meeting. I was so impressed with the service, staff and food that it is now a MUST have every time we are in town. Even if we are only here for a few hours we make it a point to grab lunch here for the drive home to Memphis. I cannot stress how great the food is but even more impressive is the staff. They make you feel like life long friends and welcomed even when you show up 30 minutes before closing. That's also a point I'd like to share... make sure you plan lunch because they close pretty early.

Excellent gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads in an eclectic and chic atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly and the selection is a wonderful mix of the stand bys you love mixed with a variety of delicious flavors put together by the proprietor and staff. This place has been one of Chattanooga's hidden jewels for years.

This is my first Yelp review ever. My friend and I were otw from Nashville to Atlanta and I gave up fast food for lent, so I requested that we stop in and eat somewhere real. Well let me tell you, real is what we got. We decided to split a tuna melt and the turkey garlic melt and a side of cheesy potato casserole. Hands down the best tuna melt I've ever had, and the turkey garlic melt was perfect. Even better than the food was the friendly service. So kind, so sweet, So accommodating. The chocolate peanut butter pie was so good that I need information on how to get it served at my wedding. I'm not engaged, I'm not even in a relationship. That's how good the pie was, I'm planning to have it brought in for a wedding I don't even know exists or not. Well done, Flatiron Deli, I will be back. Love you.

Good luck getting food here! Got there and was told they were out of the special (sign wasn't updated to say this), and that the had no baked potatoes. Pretty much got told they had no food. Wow! Worst experience ever!
Have eaten several meals there: haven’t had a clinker yet. They are now open for dinner. Last night had a delicious shepherds pie and a superb green salad!

Everything I've tried on the menu has been pretty darn good. I really like their sweet potato and spinach side - the herby and spicy angle surprised me. Not at all what I was expecting. Most do sweet potatoes as a dessert.

Everybody has an opinion of what a sandwich shop should be like. But the ingredients and the flavor at this place are spot-on. They also have daily side dishes which are excellent. Be aware, however, that if you eat lunch late then some of their daily specials may be sold out.

This place is a home away from home. Growing up in New England, this place has that quintessential deli vibe you'd often find in parts of the East Coast with the spirit of the South. The menu's offerings are not only delicious, they bring their own touch to their subtlety. Which is why I think am so attracted to Flat Iron. The location, the food, and the people that work here make the experience even more enjoyable. I'm a regular here. I come every week and every week am greeted by my name. It's the little things that prompt my returns.
