I’ve been waiting to eat here for 2 years. I’m from out of town and heard this is an authentic Greek experience. Being of Greek heritage I was looking forward to dining at OPA for some authentic Greek food that I didn’t have to cook myself. I was disappointed that every course was smothered with tzatziki, not much variety not a Kalamazoo olive in sight! and the last course dessert was chocolate cake! My mother never served chocolate cake for dessert! Baklava maybe? There are so many other things Greeks make for a sweet ending to a meal. I just need to go to Greece for a real Greek dining experience, it wasn’t worth the$95 to me. Maybe $50-60 with the wine included.

Once in a lifetime experience! We had a wonderful night of great food, wine, and dancing. Staff was so accommodating. Highly recommend!

This was our first time and we didn’t know anything about the restaurant. It ended up being a great experience! The food was yummy and it was nice not having to choose what you wanted to eat. It’s a super cute atmosphere and the owner is so sweet. I would wear close toed shoes and be sure to go when it is a little cooler outside. Because the end of the dinner is filled with dancing and fun!

We celebrated our anniversary at Opa and it did not disappoint! Each of the 4 courses was AMAZING! Don’t worry about not having a menu, you will like whatever he brings you. The wine is excellent, and is made in-house! If the amazing food and wine wasn’t enough, we got to end the night by smashing plates and dancing. See you again for our second anniversary!

I’m writing this review as someone who has come to know Michael as a close personal friend over the past five years. Understandably, my opinion may seem biased. However that may be, the bias is well deserved and well earned. Unlike other reviewers, I have seen far more of what makes Opa! so special, and so unique, than the average guest can imagine. Michael, the owner, is possibly the most polite, grateful, humble, and passionate person I have ever met. He is not only an incredible chef, but the entertainment as well. As the honest reviews attest to, he exceeds even the highest expectations in both of those departments. What you don’t see is all of the time and effort he puts into preparing a meal to remember and a night you won’t forget. Where else can a restaurant full of strangers leave feeling like they just left the best family reunion ever? Opa! is truly one of a kind! I feel blessed to know Michael personally because he too is one of a kind! You don’t have to thank me for convincing you to book a reservation, but I have no doubt you will be thanking Michael on the way out if you do. Everyone does.

So, no…. There isn’t a menu. Don’t worry about… sit back and enjoy. Michael asks you 2 simple questions. Do you want meat? Do you like Feta cheese? The rest is in his hands. And wow, his hands do amazing work! It’s four courses… including an out of this world chocolate orange cake. There are several types of meat included in the first 3 courses. A Pomegranate infused drink along with homemade red chilled wine. It was all amazing… but then the party gets started… smashing plates and some dancing. It’s a 2 hour experience…. Not just dinner. It’s expensive if you just think about dinner but it’s reasonable if you consider everything involved. Michael abd his crew live up to it. And don’t forget to yell “ OoooooPPaaaa” when smashing plates. This is all done in the middle of the floor of this smallish restaurant… one of the last vestiges of places not over consumed by safety…. It’s a party! Have fun!!!

We went there to celebrate our daughter's birthday. It was a party of 12 . Michael and the service team were great. The food was great. The plate throwing experience was new and SO much fun. Don't try to control. Just leave it to Michael and the wait staff. You will enjoy and have a great time! They go above and beyond!

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Such a unique experience right in Chattanooga. The food and wine was incredible. Also loved how we ended the night throwing plates.

It is difficult to describe how wonderful this experience was from top to bottom. Upon entering, we were asked by the owner if we liked feta and meat. Once we confirmed, we were seated upstairs and immediately brought tea and what seemed to be homemade wine! Shorty after, an appetizer appeared (no menus here). Soon after that, a second, and third course appeared. And finally a dessert. The food was the best I’ve ever had and the wine was magnificent. After about two hours of eating and drinking, we were invited back down to the main floor to smash plates and dance with the other patrons to end the night. I’ve lived in Chattanooga for years and I’m sad to think of the time I lost not coming here. A truly magical experience and I can’t wait to go back! OPA!

My husband and I had a wonderful time here last night. We’d made a reservation but drove around 10 minutes trying to find a parking space as there was a festival going on downtown. We called the restaurant, worried we were going to have to cancel, but the owner came outside and spoke with the police officer directing traffic and got us a space right in front. The atmosphere was relaxed and we were immediately sat and given wine and tea. The food was delicious and the wine kept coming. There’s no menu so be prepared to be wonderfully surprised!! Smashing the plates and dancing was the perfect way to end the night. We are looking forward to returning soon!!

We loved this restaurant! The owner was very friendly and took care of us well with delicious food and wine. This is not a typical Greek restaurant, it’s an experience of food, wine, music, dancing and fun. I’ve never had an experience like this at a restaurant. Make a reservation. The website clearly states it’s $95 a person, and has been that way for over five years. So don’t expect a quick, cheap Greek meal where you dine whenever you want. That’s not what this place is. We saw some people who did not read anything online, show up late, and then were infuriated they couldn’t be sat. This was worth the money we paid, and we could come back again!

We were definitely disappointed in this restaurant. The food was good but not great- it was plain. They served huge quantities. We got an appetizer then two full plates of food, plus dessert. Every plate had a large slice of bread with yogurt sauce on it. The main dishes both had eggplant and potatoes, and one had pasta and the other had a piece of roasted chicken. Also, the dinner service was incredibly slow- it took 2 hours, so we decided to leave before breaking any plates. We enjoyed the atmosphere and some of the food, but it wasn't worth the price for us.
