Chattanooga staple! Gotta get you one of these! Do not skimp on the hot sauce! Unless you don't care for hot sauce. My Dad used to bring these home all the time when there was one downtown on Market I think...? Can't remember but I stop as often as I can when I'm traveling during the times of operation! Love this spot! Enjoy!

The bread for the sandwiches bumped this up to a 4. After visiting a nearby car dealership, we asked for a quick but good lunch. Salesperson even verified that Steamboat was still open since the advertised time was open until 2 p.m., but it turned out they're staying open later (maybe 3?).It's just a little shop in a small shopping center and nothing fancy. The staff was very friendly.Combo with sandwich, drink, and chips was $8 including tax ($16 lunch for 2). We tried the grilled chicken breast and a roast beef sandwich. The bread was uh-mazing! Reminded me of ciabatta bread, but it was much softer and soooo good. I saw on the menu that it is baked fresh daily.

Wow really good food

Very good sandwiches but not very clean inside. All tables were dirty and the floor had dirt and spills everywhere. They are very fast so would be good for carryout.

I visited about 2 weeks ago, and now I'm w regular. I have been known to visit twice in a week. Service is fast and efficient, and the staff is super kind. To make things better Tuesday and Thursday are free cookie day!It is a simple menu with simple sandwiches. They bake their own bread, and it tastes delicious. A steamboat combo will cost $8 even after tax and it comes with chips and a drink.

I just moved to TN and work just down the street from Steamboat. The quality of their meat and fresh baked bread is amazing! Northern Illinois pride themselves over their Italian Beef, but Steamboat blows all that out of the water! I would much rather eat here than any of the Portillos up north. Sorry not sorry.

The food is decent enough, but there are not enough options. My sandwich was fairly small. The place had a moderate flow of business. The people serving were friendly. You get your own refills and take care of yourself after your served.
