Catfish is always good. Don't think I should have to pay for tarter sauce. It don't come with your fish unless you order a plate. That's what was told to me at the brainerd rd location.

Quite possibly the BEST catfish I have ever had! Staff was friendly and service was excellent! I wish I had tried the macaroni and cheese but I wanted a slice of the key lime cake which did not disappoint. The hush puppies were also amazing. Nothing was soaked in grease and the breading was perfect on both the fish and the okra! The catfish was moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The only downside to this restaurant is it's about six hours away from my house!

Visited the South for the first time and heard great things about this catfish restaurant! I got the fried catfish and my friend got the fried tilapia. The catfish was so soft and buttery!! It is definitely a softer fish than the tilapia. The breading is a little too salty for me but I think that's also a personal preference. I got my fried catfish with a side of fried okra and turnip greens. Fried okra was delicious but the greens were also a little bit salty for my taste. I'd get the baked beans next time. The restaurant has more of a hole-in-the-wall vibes and is causally run. Service was fast and staff were attentive and helpful.
Since they opened..used to eat there; two times a week. Just awesome. Now I have to stop grease and fried foods. (Don't Tell My Cardiologist; or oncologist). "I got Smacked today"And " Loved it". Atmosphere is for Restaurants with frozen; or expensive food. Uncle Larry's is for "Love of ALL God's children; and a few gluttony for Great Cajun...like Myself. ( not Mike).

I was in town with my family from South Carolina and we where staying at the State Park and someone told us to try Uncle Larry’s and boy when I tell you that was the best advice/ decision I ever made the food was hot and fresh.the atmosphere was amazing the staff was friendly and made us feel at home. My Mom doesn’t eat fish and ate a whole piece of cat fish and wanted to marry the young man cooking

Takeout at Uncle Larry's Hwy 58. Apx. 30 minutes before closing. I went inside to order takeout. Cashier was arrogant and appeared upset that I came in near closing. Chairs were being placed on tables so I can try and understand their reactions. BTW...fish was awesome.
