First time visiting. Food was great. My test has always been the tamales. And theirs were really good. They actually had more meat than masa flour. Chips were a little thick in my opinion but were good. If I'm ever in Cleveland again I will not hesitate to stop in.

Ordered a takeout order and didn't get any tortillas or the large cheese dip we ordered. This has happened a few times and it's just really annoying to constantly have stuff missing. They tell us we can come back to get it but our food would be cold after driving all the way back plus it's a waste of gas. I love the food but it's just really annoying to be missing stuff in orders.

Monterey’s now serving birria !!! Also pictured is their new dip with pineapple bacon and jalapeño I like this place a lot. Probably the first Mexican restaurant I ever ate at from when I was a kid. Glad they’re still around after so many in Cleveland have come and went. Very nice !?

The rustic aesthetic, though charming in its own right, did not exude the serene ambiance I seek in a dining establishment. The quality of the furniture and booth seating, while functional, did not quite elevate the dining experience to a level of refined comfort I anticipated.
