I have been to you business numerous times and been to the piano bar and have always enjoyed the experience. However, tonight I placed an order of $100.00 to be delivered by Caviar, only to be told they were out of sticky rice after Caviar had charged. The female manager said they cancelled my order due to being out of rice. How does a popular restaurant run out of rice at 6 pm on a Saturday night??? The manager offered nothing to compensate and said that she looks forward to reading our review. What kind of service is this, I know that I will no longer give you my hard earned money. I'm done.

Food was very good but a tad overpriced for being in Columbia (in my opinion). We ordered To-Go and the front desk staff was very friendly! Great sized portions and the quality of food was delicious (I ordered drunken noodles and my husband got a steak).

We drive about 45 minutes to come to Vanh Dy's for dinner. The first couple of times I came I was blown away. The upstairs lounge is amazing and the curry is so good. Ben Franklin playing piano in the background is the icing on the cake. However- the last two times I've been the service has been abysmally slow and the food lukewarm. Our drinks were in need of refills most of the night last night- I would have loved another cocktail. The waitress seemed to be handling all of the upstairs tables plus the outdoor area- too much for one person! I imagine sales and tips would be better if there was an additional server. I know that staffing is a challenge, but our experience really wasn't what I'd hoped for the last couple visits. I'd been raving to the friends we brought on both of our last visits about how great this place is and left disappointed that they didn't get that experience.

We are at Vanh Dy’s every date night at least once a month. It’s by far the best date night spot in town. It’s cozy, the ambience is stellar, the staff is great, and the food is out of this world. We’ve had one minor hiccup with a take out order and the staff/manager went above and beyond to make things right. We will be back again and again and we will always recommend Vanh Dy’s to our friends!

Sat right in front of the door so I don't think we really got the feel of the restaurant. The appetizer and meal was good. The green tea cheesecake didn't really have much flavor and poor presentation. Several of the dishes were chipped/broken and still being used to serve on. A girl came in with a puppy and they were seated with the puppy! Not sure how sanitary it is allowing puppies at the dinner table... ?‍♀️

Food was excellent! Top notch prep! We had a table upstairs, with live music. Felt like the 2 speakers were too much for the size space upstairs. It was difficult to have little conversation at the table during performance.

There is a lot to like about Vanh Dy's but also some things that need work.First off, the restaurant is beautifully done and clearly well taken care of. The layout, the decoration, the atmosphere are great. The upstairs speakeasy is great and its a nice bit of theater that they have to punch in a code for you to go up. I think they could really have some fun by having a server or host look through the window in the door and ask for your reservation to be let in. It'd add to the ambience.Second and far an away the biggest negative was the entertainment. I was incredibly disappointed by it and I want to be abundantly clear here - there was nothing wrong with the singer at all. They were perfectly talented standard Nashville singers doing the same type of music I hear at every live music venue in the area and that was the problem. Here is this beautifully crafted environment going for the speakeasy vibe with a grand piano and instead of jazz or standards it is people in tee shirts and jeans singing country music covers.Another note on the music- and please every place that has live music write this down - when friends get together at a place they want to socialize and spend time with each other. They do not want to be able to not hear themselves think because of how loud the music is. If your customers can not comfortably carry on a conversation with each other your music is too loud. Turn It down. While we were there two tables left due to how loud the music was. Finally the food. I leave the food for last because if we're honest it is the least important part of dining out. Most places are fine but not spectacular and we are there for atmosphere and to spend time with friends. Likewise the food at Vanh Dy's was fine. My steak was actually pretty good though my wife and friends all complained their rice was cold and veggies were undercooked - though the way the veggies were cooked is really more preference than a problem. Some people like their veggies to be closer to raw than cooked down. As for the pricing I felt it was very reasonable.Vanh Dy's could easily be a 5 star place. Much like downtown Columbia the potential is really incredible. The first and easiest fix is turn down the music so your patrons can enjoy each other's company. Second, lean into the atmosphere you have so carefully created and give us an experience we can't get everywhere else. The music should only be jazz, soul, or standards performed by well dressed performers. Make us feel we are somewhere exclusive and classy. This is something you can do that has no additional cost. Lastly, it'd be awesome if you could do nights periodically where jacket and tie were required. There really is no where people can get dressed up and have a night out. Vanh Dy's seems to have designed itself to fill that void but needs to embrace it. If it does that not only will it be a 5 star place I think it will become somewhere people come from all around to experience.

We ate there once - but every time we attempt to go there they are closed...? Never heard of a restaurant that is closed 3 days a week... is it pandemic mode...? How can a restaurant survive when they are closed Su, Mon, Tuesday? Just asking ...

The atmosphere is great, the music was entertaining and relaxing which drew the audience in. The drinks were excellent as was the staff. The food was delicious, I felt like I had been on vacation after I left. Wonderful experience

Overall awesome place with a couple dings.Pros:- The food was excellent and the host/waitress were both great and very friendly.- I got the panang curry and my wife the seafood pho. Both tasted excellent.- Prices are reasonable.-Nice atmosphere.Dings:-I ordered a beer that I never got. First, our waitress forgot it, then when I brought it up, she entered it and then they figured out they were out of that beer. We were halfway done with food when they told me, so I just didn't get a beer. Saved me $5 I guess.-Portions could be larger for sure.Overall: Aside from them taking a literal hour to figure out they were out of a specific beer, everything was very good and we would go back. Not many places in Spring Hill/Columbia have good Asian food so we appreciate it.

Fun and great time for just hanging out with friends, they have an outdoor seating upstairs also. So either in the piano bar section or outside best time.

My first time here and it was fantastic! Melissa was our waitress. She was fabulous. She had every table in the lower level and she took care of everyone. She never missed a beat. The food was amazing! Everything was hot, fresh, and such great flavors! I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!
