This place is a favorite for sure!! We spend weekends in Dickson and make this a regular stop. The place looks amazing BUT I’d LOVE to see it without the bright LED lights in all the time. I bet it would fell very comfortable in the evening if it wasn’t bright like the surface of the sun inside. Love it all the same

Took 30 minutes to get pancakes. Avocado toast for $9 had hardly anything on it. Poor service!

My bestie and I like to come here for kid-free days, even though our kids would be welcome here. We always have a very pleasant experience, and we have never had a bad time. We'll be back!

My husband and I are moving to the area and we love to support local businesses but we have learned to read other reviews as we have been to many not so good places. When I first looked at the website and menu for Pumphrey and Beard, I was excited. The menu items sounds delicious. Several good options for coffee too. I loved finding out that everything is local. Then I turned to the reviews and that excitement turned into hesitancy. I get there are some people that give bad reviews just to leave bad reviews and they shouldn’t because they are not helpful at all. I was more concerned with how the owner responded to those reviews. I appreciate that he responds, but they were very rude and unprofessional. There are more professional ways to tell someone why items are out, or explaining the staffing issue. We went here regardless thinking we just want good food. And the food was good. I got the breakfast burrito and it was really good. My husband got the salmon biscuit, he said it was a smaller than he thought it would be and the biscuit was very dense, but it was good. The coffee and mocha were very good. Overall, we would come back and eat here again, just wish the owner was a little more professional when responding to reviews.

I have been to this coffee shop multiple times over 3 years and every time I leave disappointed. The coffee always tastes bitter and burnt, the staff are unfriendly and not trained properly. They enforce the “no outside food or drink” on some customers and not others even if you are only there to pickup and leave. There is no more than 1-3 employees ( if your lucky) working at a time and they even leave nervous untrained high school students unattended to make food/drinks for people that are absolutely disgusting.I wanted to support local businesses and give Pumphreys multiple chances but I just can't waste my money on this place anymore.

The 2 sandwiches we got were ok, they didn’t have tomatoes for a BLT sandwich. They Ran out of soup before 1:00 they were also sending people away before 1:00 saying they were done serving lunch. Who turns away Customers? Serving hrs must NOT apply daily.

Such a neat little place! Atmosphere is very nice. There was live music on a Saturday morning. We had a muffin and lattes. Both were good I had a salted caramel and it was unique and delicious! They have a food menu and I look forward to going back and trying more!

My wife, younger son & I would come here for breakfast 3 to 5 days a week for 6 - 9 months in late 2022, early 2023. We loved the atmosphere and the breakfast bowl. Considering our frequency and the We stopped eating here about 6 months ago because the last 3 experiences we had with food and service were abysmal. We would occasionally come in for coffee, but the last 3 or 4 experiences we had, just for coffee, were equally bad.Today broke the camel's back and we will never be back.My son and I are both very allergic to dairy. We get quite sick. My son accidentally forgot to tell the kid working the counter for oat milk. Once the drink was made, my son took a little sip and realized it was dairy. He apologized profusely and asked the young guy behind the counter if he'd please make another with oat milk. The kid behind the counter told him he'd charge my son and that he'd have to wait a while, because, although there wasn't another person in the cafe when we came in, 3 or 4 people had since come in.While this was probably my son's mistake, he and I both have, rarely, made this mistake before. NEVER has a business told us they'd charge us for the mistake. To make matters worse, I'd tipped the punk kid 20%.On top of this, I ordered a decaf coffee. It took the kid about 10 minutes to make it and it was, hands down, THE worst coffee I've ever had. He had to make it "special," because they don't make decaf here. It was barely luke warm and faintly tasted of coffee. When my son came back to the table and told me about his interaction, I went up to the kid behind the counter and asked if he'd please make another coffee, without charge. He refused. I asked again. He refused. He said the owner is strict and has rules and he won't bend them. I asked him for a pen and told him I was going to give him my name and number and ask Amanda (I believe that's the owner's name, I've spoken with her a number of times in the past). He refused to take my number. To add even more insult to injury, the punk behind the counter was arrogant, condescending and patronizing. So... to save $0.25 on a cup of coffee, this business has now many lost hundreds of dollars in our business, as we will never again come here, even for coffee.
