“Updated my co-worker recently just celebrated his birthday with you guys. We are all Educators in the Hamilton County School System. It was a lot of fun but he didn't make the Wall of Fame. “Place was a little busy on a Sunday after 2pm. Wait for a table was about 10 minutes, might have been a little longer because we requested a booth for our service animal, who was warmly welcomed. Our server was an absolute doll, very attentive with great customer service skills. Took a little longer than I expected to get the food but when it did arrive it was hot and really good. The bill for lunch for 2, non alcoholic drinks and an appatizer, (1st rate fried green tomatoes) came in around 60 with a healthy tip.A little on the spendy side for a late lunch but we felt we got excellent value for the money we spent.“
“My daughter and husband live in Ringgold, so I come from California every few months to spend time with my grandbabies. We have tried all the "flashy" and "kitchy" restaurants in Chatt, but little did we know that the BEST food is right here in downtown Ringgold! I have long been a fan of real down-home cooking and haven't really enjoyed that authentic flavor made from scratch with fresh ingredients since my grandmother passed in 1995. Effie's ambience is like that of a small-town diner, as it should be. The menu is varied yet traditional American family favorites like meatloaf, chicken-fried, beef tips, etc, plus a slew of sandwiches and vegetable sides. We each ordered something different, and we each were thrilled with our selections. There is no mistaking home-made freshness! Our server was Sherry and she was delightful, attentive, and full of info about the food and the restaurant's namesake. What a wonderful meal! I will be heading back for the catfish and a whole lot of coleslaw on Wednesday.“

“I got my regular sassy Scotty on wheat berry with provolone cheese, lettuce, and tomato toasted. Grape salad with topping with watermelon tea. It was absolutely delicious. My mom got two scoops one was classic Carol and the other was pimento cheese with crackers.“
“I always enjoy my experiences when I eat here or even when I go in to pick something up. I generally will try to avoid having to sit in those long lines. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful and they all act like they like their jobs... It's very nice and enjoyable... You do don't get treated like that at other places, thats for certainI absolutely no love their lemonade!!! It's soooo delicious... “Food was great. Beware its spicy... service was less than stellar, but I geek out over a empty tea glass. House music was very nice if your a fan of the 80s. Which I am. First time but Definitely not the last. Oh and did I mention it's spicy!! Medium has enough teeth for me.“
“I am just visiting from florida, and had the need to feed a large group. When I went in I figured it was going to take a while to receive my order, but these folks had it ready and under 5 minutes. Impressive! They are a credit to the chain“
“Located in a strip mall, parking is plentiful but you will cross a traffic lane no matter where you park. There are some handicapped spaces right across from the entrance. There are no steps or curb so walking is very easy. Walking in, there is a small buffet cart to the right and a cash register to the left. There are signs telling your what to do, but the person working the register was very helpful. You purchase a bucket of the size you want. Then you pack it full of chicken, potato wedges, and biscuits. Most pieces are cooked to order so will take 15-20 minutes but they will be very fresh. There was some chicken on the buffet cart so a snack pack could be filled quickly. Some chicken had been there 10 minutes or so while others were freshly added. They do take call in orders so you can call ahead and they will make your chicken so it's ready when you get there. One thing I really liked was they asked what chicken pieces I wanted for my bucket. Another thing I liked is they asked you to put on disposable gloves to get stuff from the buffet. I selected the medium bucket. I was able to fit about five wings, four breasts, four rolls, and a bunch of potato wedges and still get you the lid on. They do encourage you to fill your bucket which is nice. I feel I got my money's worth. The baked chicken wings were my least favorite, but not bad. They sat on the buffet longest so were a little dry. The baked breast was good though. The seasoning is flavorful but not spicy even though it looks like it could be. The fried chicken pieces were excellent. Moist and tender meat with a crispy coating that was not crunchy. Overall seasoning was mild. The potato wedges were more like thick strips. Some were over six inches long. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The rolls were outstanding. They must have honey injected or soaked in and then covered with butter. They are light but can be filling. It seems like they take care to produce fresh chicken and sides, and let you pick you choice of chicken pieces. The end result is a good value for some excellent fresh food.“
“I've eaten from there many times, always using the drive thru. No issues with the food or service, both have been great. I decided that I would take a break and go in this morning and found the lobby closed. Seems like we are far enough past covid that the lobby could be opened for breakfast.“
