It's been years since I had the pleasure to grab lunch at City Market. It still is fast, fresh, delicious food with friendly service. I had the broccoli cheddar soup with a grilled cheese sandwich and the most wonderful slice of strawberry cake. Truth be told, this is an eat your dessert first kind of place...no judgment!
The plan was to go to The Southern, but the place was closed, so my mother in law suggested City Market. It's a cute, small, simple place. Part of the kitchen is behind the front counter, so you can see what's cookin. Service was friendly and fast. I had the city breakfast with fried eggs, toast and bacon and a side of pancakes. Prices were very reasonable, under $5. I heard their desserts are fantastic, so I'll have to try them next time I'm in town!

First time we tried it. Had burgers, fried green tomatoes and onion rings. It was so, so delicious! Took a chocolate cream pie home with us ?. Waitresses so personable and sweet along with the whole staff.Super friendly atmosphere. This is my new favorite place.
