Great people & down-home cooking. Breakfast served any time. One of our favorite sit-down places in Fayetteville for reliably good meat-and-three choices.Parking: On Sundays, there is always parking in the street in front.

Oh the failure! We were sitting waiting for our breakfast for at least 30 minutes. In the meantime we hear, we are out of biscuits, we are out of gravy, we are out of spoons. Breakfast comes with over cooked biscuits, no gravy, country ham was cold. The server comes over and asks if everything is ok. Well, we tell her and she says the owner had to go home to get more gravy. Well, cancel that and we ask for toast instead. The owner finally arrives, who also is one of the cooks. The server tells the owner what we had issues with, he tell us a bunch of excuses including his van broke down and had the normal everyday things. We tell him there’s no excuse for serving half of the things without the rest to go along with it, like biscuits and gravy. He gets in a huff and just turns around and walks off. Nice respect for the customers that pay your bills….moron! While we were there other customers had issues too including one customer that did get gravy but didn’t eat it. On the bright side, the servers were friendly and sympathetic for this guy. Too bad!

We were in town and decided to try this place. Hoping for some good southern biscuits and gravy. We got our coffee and placed our order. They weren’t crowded so we didn’t think we would have to wait and see that 2 other tables were served that arrived after us. Being patient (30 min) food was finally on the way out. The waitress told us that the owner had to go get more gravy. (Curious and confused) I asked what do you mean he has to go get more. Like make more or get more from the back? She said no, he had to go home to get more gravy. While we are hearing from the kitchen. “Out of spoons, out of biscuits and out of gravy. I am sorry I do t want to start to eat my food and the owner has left to go get gravy. We said to forget the gravy. Beginning to eat what we were brought, the ham was cold, biscuits overcooked burnt on the bottom. Sausage was cooked but not browned. Hashbrowns the same. While I spoke. To the 3 different waitresses, knowing it was not their fault, they were very apologetic. The owner came out and asked what was wrong. Knowing the situation with the gravy. I told him poor planning on your part. He started with excuses and I told him excuses weren’t acceptable. He said he was done and walked away. One waitress that was there apologized again and said she was totally embarrassed. Again I told her it was not her fault. The owner never offered anything not even an apology. He needs to remember who he is feeding and where the money comes from. With his 40 years in the business this is not acceptable.

To me, the best breakfast in Fayetteville. I love the Paul Bunyan. 3 eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon, ham and sausage for about 8 bucks. The eggs ate perfect every time. I actually like their new location just off the square. Parking is easier and the restaurant is friendly and updated. Oh, and the patty melt is actually an authentic patty melt.

The food here was disgusting! The omlette was barely edible. The pancakes were made out of the old pancake mix. I was charged 2.00 extra for about 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips. My boyfriend was charged .75 to add a few onions. His gravy looked like a dog got sick. They kept going on about how the biscuits were hard and I should get toast. Which was very odd. I tried the biscuit, and it didn't taste right. Maybe made with old ingredients? The bathroom floors had dead bugs, and walls looked like they had never been cleaned. Has this place ever had a food inspector inspect it? There was a guy in the back eating while cooking. Nasty. Will never go there again!! The place only had 3 customers. That was a clue.

Great mom and pop shop to grab a good burger and have a chat, literally, it's quite enough to hear a conversation, not just have one if that makes sense.
