They were closed and did not indicate that on the website. We drove 30 minutes to get there.

We went here because of the good reviews on yelp. Beware, when we got here the first thing we noticed was the trash strewn all over the hillside behind the building. We had to climb up 2 flights of very steep stairs (not good for anyone with mobility issues), past a store front for screen printing shirts that was a mess. When we made our way to the actual restaurant, the server seemed very irritated that we were there. When my husband asked to use the restroom she replied with "huh", which is in my opinion very poor manners. While in the restroom he noticed the kitchen looking "nasty" in his words. Trash overflowing, nasty floors, cooking areas not clean, old French fries sitting over the fryer. While he was in the restroom, the server literally threw the menus on our table and as she was walking away, she mumbled something about her name (which I didn't catch) and then something else she mumbled, which I also didn't catch. She then proceeded to bark at the other party there about working on their issue. We left without ordering. Not welcoming, poor service, not easily accessible for those with mobility issues.

Hidden gem! We found this place by chance and will return. Service wad a bit slow but it isn't fast food. Everything was fresh, and gave my family time to socialize and meet new people. Very casual atmosphere but not a bar, family friendly. They had a great selection of beer. The food menu isn't huge but everyone in my party of 6 really liked the food. We most definitely will return.

Our experience at The Fox and Parrot Tavern was nothing short of disappointing and, frankly, appalling. From the moment we stepped foot inside, it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority. The establishment was littered with neglect, with the ambiance marred by the stench of old cigarettes and an overall lack of hygiene.Seated uncomfortably close to a fire pit overflowing with discarded cigarette butts, our chairs appeared to be more suitable for a dumpster than a dining area, covered in what seemed to be mildew. The disregard for basic cleanliness was alarming, leaving me wondering how the restaurant hasn't faced repercussions for health violations. To add to the discomfort, the service was equally unsatisfactory. Our waitress seemed confused and acted as though it was her first time interacting with humans. In a bizarre turn of events, she even requested that I fetch drinks for our party when she saw me on my way back from the restroom.Hoping that the food would salvage the dismal situation, we ordered the fish and chips, only to be met with a plate of soggy disappointment. For the hefty price of $70, the quality did not reflect the cost whatsoever, further exacerbating our disappointment. In conclusion, The Fox and Parrot Tavern is a dining establishment I will never set foot in again, and I strongly advise others to save their money and seek dining experiences elsewhere.

A caution: The tavern is up two flights of stairs. It's off season so there were just two couples in the restaurant. My wife had fish and chips and I had the Shepherd's Pie, also with chips. The server was a friendly, young, talkative woman. While the service was fine, the food was poor. The Shepherd's Pie came out hot but was served with soggy, lukewarm chips. My wife said the fish was OK but again, the chips were poor. Disappointing.

This place is a gem. Lots of stairs to climb to get to the tavern but it’s worth the hike up. The server was kind as we looked through their draft list. If you sit at the bar you will smell like deep fryer even without eating anything.

I’m from England and in all honesty the Chicken pie with proper chips (French fries) is one of the best meals I’ve ever had in a pub, in the USA or even in the U.K. My partner had Fish & Chips, she loved it & I tried it too, the batter was super good. The service was excellent & the prices on the menu were very good. Great value for money & absolutely delicious. Thanks to you guys my faith in American pubs and their food has been restored.

If you are looking for a delicious meal in Gatlinburg that isn’t mass-marketed and is instead quaint and authentic, you must go to the Fox and Parrot! It is a true English pub, a bit off the beaten path, and worth every extra minute. We hate to use the cliche, but “hidden gem” so aptly describes this great find. Read the house rules — they are accurate as well as entertaining. If we ever get to Gatlinburg again, we will absolutely be back. My group can recommend the fish and chips, the pasty, and the Rueben. Get the cheese sauce for the fries, too, and the pear cider. Breakfast Juice on draft was a winner as well. Everything was fabulous — there were even happy kids and dogs! — and I know we’ll reminisce about our visit there for many Christmases to come.Parking: Shared parking with local businesses but there were plenty of spots. Beautiful location!
