The very best barbecue! Lunch was excellent. Had turkey, brisket, and pork all of which were wonderful. Sides are great too. Can’t brag enough about it. We went to downtown location.

I have enjoyed this location when it was CB's, Big Max, and now Pappyy's. The only thing that I miss is the pork sandwiches being made out of pork shoulder instead of the Pork Butt that Pappy uses. Otherwise the people are nice, the sandwiches are big, and the Fried chocolate pies are good!

We are from Chicago and looked up places for good BBQ in town around me when we traveled to TN. Being from Chicago BBQ is around town but what we experienced at Pappy’s was amazing food, great environment, and friendly people. We loved every minute from ordering until we left.. anybody that loves great BBQ and just an over all great experience please stop in to these place you won’t regret it! Thanks guys!!!

Outstanding ribs, love the baked beans, potato salad and fried cord. The corn was so good I took 2 back to the hotel. All the meat is gluten free except the burnt ends. I also had a local Frits root beer. The brisket is unusual and sliced paper thin. We didn’t care for it, but the ribs.., can’t wait to go back. Pappy’s has made a huge place for to go orders. We may try that next time. Great for all ages.

Rented out the rear party room for my daughters soccer team and families. What a meat lovers experience. Pulled pork, Racks of Ribs, Brisket , Chicken, Mac n cheese, corn bread. Where do I start? Definitely one of the best smokehouses I’ve ever been to. The dry rubbed ribs were amazing! Would absolutely recommend if you are in the area.

I had the brisket plate , little to much fat on it , not a lot of meat just enough to cover a bun , but the baked beans is were my mouth went hold up !!! They tasted more like chili beans then baked beans . Not a big fan of that at all. Didn't really go with BBQ . Potato salad was good though.

Brisket was tender, juicy and hint of smoke flavor. The burnt ends were the bomb.... tender with hint of sweet tangy seasoning. Get the pickles as a side!

I must say that this is some of the BEST damned BBQ I have EVER eaten in my life! My wife and I met a friend here for lunch, after I had already been impressed with previous reviews of this place and making a quick stop here back in January just for a glass of tea while on the go. My ribs were cooked and seasoned to perfection and very tender! I am not typically a fan of potato salad but I just had to try it along with the baked beans, and I can only say Amen! The service was fast and the staff was SUPER FRIENDLY and COURTEOUS and checked back on us many times to see if we needed anything else. My wife was pleased and over-joyed with everything she ate, as well: the 2-meat sandwich, potato salad, and green beans. My friend was very impressed and said he wished he'd known about this place sooner! Since his wife wasn't with us, he ordered a half-rack of ribs to take back to her; I later learned she enjoyed them too! WE WILL BE BACK!!! (The fact that my favorite Blues musician, James Lee Hooker, is on the wall certainly helps!)

Disgusting. New owners maybe? I give them a NEGATIVE in all categories. I was served old scraps that should have been thrown out Monday night. I have no doubt I was given leftovers from the holiday. I paid over $38.00 for a pound of black pieces and fat that appeared to have been finely chopped and reheated several times and tasted just as it appeared . The beans were maybe pork and beans with ketchup and chili powder ? I have never had anything quite like it. There was a long piece of meat in the beans not sure where it came from . The flavor and consistency of the barbecue worked well with the stale, hard chewy bun. An overall chewing experience of what deep fried crusted caulk must taste like. The entire meal was inedible. I had two friends over and was embarrassed to serve them this meal. I gave it to the dogs and ordered pizza. $38 wasted, thanks Pappy. Who is Pappy ? Apparently there’s no Pappy or manager or owner! Only a manager in training who hung up on me twice when I called to voice my dis satisfaction of quality of the over priced “meal “ 1 lb of dirty scrap trash meat, old stale buns, and 2 small cups of sides.Keep training , you’re not quite there yet. Let me remind you there is another bbq place right down the road. I will keep driving. Your manners are worse than your food.
