So, I've been wanting to try the new sandwiches that are supposed to be like Poor Richard's Deli. I practically lived on Poor Richard's sandwiches and iced tea during the 80's when I was in college. My go to sandwich was the "General". Today, I finally got by there and as badly as I wanted to experience the taste of the "General" again, I'm sorry to say it did not quite measure up. Barely a semblance to the original. You need to ditch the whole leaf lettuce and use shredded lettuce. It would make a world of difference! Also the roast beef had too much of a barbecue flavor. Please don't get me wrong, I love the Red Pig's BBQ sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes and tea and will continue to patronize this restaurant, but I just was not as impressed as I would have liked to have been with the new sandwiches. The sweet tea, as usual, was top-notch. The staff is doing better and are more friendly than they were there for a while. In my opinion, you need to do away with the additional charge for using a card instead of cash. We are a cashless society these days.

I was visiting for the Bristol race and of course I want Tennessee BBQ. Well, I had the misfortunate of finding this place. The food was terrible. Not Sure where the BBQ was in this trash food. Not only was it terrible BBQ but just plain terrible food. For the love of GOD learn how to toast bread, at least that would have been right. The BBQ beef was mush, not sure what was done to it but my guess way over cooked and had a weird taste. The chicken and pork were dry and had no flavor. The ribs were done well, did not fall off the bone but done just right but absolutely had zero flavor. Not to mention the strange, flavored BBQ sauce. Just gross. The service was good. Please find another place. If the place has nobody in it that is the sign.

This is the best place to eat, if you're on a budget, the pig pack is the way to go!! The deli sandwiches are amazing, and steamed!!!! But let's not forget the potatoes, mmmm.... Delicious, the staff is very friendly, if you have any complaints they handle it immediately, they are fast, way easier than going to fast food... The service is where it's at. The little short girl Heather, is always kind and eager to serve me, everytime I come.. TRY THE SAMPLER PLATTER YOU GET EVERYTHING, AND EXTREMELY REASONABLE PRICES!!Kid-friendliness: The staff always talks so kind to all the children that come to eat.Wheelchair accessibility: Has handicapped parking up front of the building.

Food was mediocre and unseasoned. The manager was yelling and being unkind to employees.

I hadn't been to Red Pig since high school but I recently saw a billboard stating that they serve "Poor Richard's" steamed sandwiches! (For people fairly new to the area, Poor Richard's Deli was a favorite here in the 80's and 90's) I've been a fan of the Hardy Hoagie for decades so I decided to try it! Oh yeah delicious ? and they serve MAXINE'S SWEET TEA! A local favorite from childhood! If you're not familiar but love super sweet tea...you have to try it.

the employees are RUDE AS HELL lol the last few times i've been there they've treated me like i was bothering them. i've been coming here for over 30 years and it's just continued to get worse and worse. food is only mediocre now, tea is fantastic, but the employees and atmosphere ruin the whole thing. tom would be really disappointed.
