Best pizza in Johnson City. They have the best pepperoni! The Chicago pizza is so much bigger than we thought.

I travel from Bristol, Va for this pizza whenever I can. Some people put their phone in the backseat to resist the urge mess with it, and I've learned that the backseat is the safest place for this pizza if anyone else is to get any when I make it home. Best pizza I've ever had.

we love ice cream

They have a very hateful clown “attending”. So it’s really not worth it, the pizza is good but not that good. He totally gave me an attitude because I said I couldn’t wait an hour and 15 minutes for a pizza, not all people have all the time in the world. I said in a polite manner and even said sorry (I don’t really know why). I didn’t take up his time at all, he just gave me a paper to fill out which took him seconds to do. He on the contrary did make me waste mine as he should have let me know it was gonna take super long the minute he gave me the paper. Super hateful! Needs to know his place.

Scratch Brick Oven does the best pizza in the region based on my experience, and, in all honesty, some of the best pizza I've ever had in my US travels. Although, I'm sure some of it falls to individual preference. ;)They get the dough just right where it's substantial with a little bit of chew, but without feeling too dense or gummy. All their toppings are high quality and the people who build the pizzas are masters of flavor combos. I'm never disappointed in a full or partial trust pizza. If you've somehow slept on Scratch then you need to fix that!

Really long wait times. Prices are too high. Also, it's the kind of place where you wonder how clean it really is in the kitchen.

Love the vibe of the outdoor eating area. The homemade pepperoni is so freaking good! It's personally the best I've ever had.

Delicious food! Really enjoy it here, just wish there was indoor seating. Friendly staff and cool decor. Definitely will be going there again! :)

Scratch is easily my favorite pizza anywhere. Trust pizzas are an amazing concept, and I wish more places did them, especially now that I'm moving away. However, the customer service I experienced tonight was probably the worst I've experienced anywhere, so even if I weren't moving, I don't think I'd come back.I called in my order a few minutes before 5 today and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. I didn't arrive at Scratch until a few minutes before 6, so it had been an hour since I ordered. I gave my name, paid for my order, and headed to the back to wait for someone to bring it out as always. After waiting about 20 minutes or so, I went back to the window to ask about my order, explaining that I ordered a little before 5 and got here well after it was supposed to be ready. I was told it was over an hour wait. I repeated that I didn't just order, I had ordered a little before 5, so it had already been over an hour, so I'd like a refund if the wait was going to be longer. The woman at the window said she can't give refunds, so she offered me a 50% off coupon on my next visit. I said that wouldn't work since I'm moving and won't get to use it. She then offered me a rice krispy treat. I declined and said I'd keep waiting, but they shouldn't be giving wrong wait times to people, and besides, it had already been over an hour since I ordered. She said they're short staffed, and a new person must have made a mistake. She never once offered to check on the order for me, which is the bare minimum she could have done. I was sharp in my tone but still polite. I didn't raise my voice, use insults, or use foul language.I waited another half hour or so and decided to just leave. It had been about an hour since I'd checked in to pick up my order and two hours since I'd called in my order. No one offered to check on my order even though staff saw me waiting for an hour, and no other customers had waited for more than a half hour, and those customers didn't order until they got to the window.Since it had already proven fuitle before, and because there was a pretty big group lining up to order, I didn't go back to the window. I'm going to try to dispute the charge with my bank even though I probably won't be successful, so I'm probably out nearly $30.It was a huge disappointment and honestly enough to make me think twice about ordering from Scratch again even if I weren't moving.

Pizza was delish! Parking is a little weird and not being able to go inside really limits the options, but in a pinch they offer to go! Pesto sauce was TO DIE FOR

This was the second time we've had this. First time was soon after 1 bite challenge by Bar Stool. First time we bought 1 pizza and grabbed one from our normal pizza spot since we only come to JC a couple times a year. It was so good we decided to get scratch this time only. Not sure if lack of employees or what. Parking here is already problematic so we park and walk across street. Go to the main door it's locked probably because of no help or covid. So go to the back where you could eat outside. Door there says go to opposite side to the window. We had called it in, go to the window ring the bell and pay. Then get told to come back to the door that said go to the window to pick up the order. Pizza this time was lackluster and overdone. If you want to try it only do 1 for your first try. Maybe we just caught it on an off day.

I used to come to Scratch all the time growing up (lived right down the street). Workers were always super nice, outgoing people. Never had to wait later than I expected to for a pizza. Fast forward to the other day when my girlfriend & I decided to get a nice pie on our way home. We actually thought there was a small eating area inside (there used to be) so we drove to the business only to find out that you can no longer eat on site and actually can't even order inside (small window on the side of the building). So not only am I upset that we have to take the pizza away to eat it, we then proceeded to wait 45 minutes outside in the cold. We weren't the only ones waiting, and we weren't the only ones frustrated with the to-go process. All they told us was to "wait outside the screen door and they'll call your name in about 25 mins". Meaning someone had to be present outside or someone could just walk up and snatch your order that you've already paid for. Last but not least, as we got home and opened up the box, the first thing that caught both of our eyes was the smallest amount of Parmesan/Romano cheese I had ever seen in my entire life. Not even 5¢ worth of cheese in a small to-go container. Laughable. This isn't even getting 'shorted'. This is sad and ruins the reputation of a great business that once cared about satisfying its customers. I know everyone has a bad day, but you can make up for it in certain ways. Had it just been a long wait outside in the cold, I probably wouldn't be posting this. The reason for the post is to let you know that the taste of the pizza (which was great btw) isn't the only thing people care about. I hope things improve in the future, it will be a while before I return. (Which hurts to say)

Good pizza, good staff, incredible location close to the center. Everything is delicious, the atmosphere is different and everyone is very friendly. Get lots of cakes and every cake is delicious.
