Watauga Brewery is good, but has a reduced selection of beer styles since their original brewmaster left. I hear they are searching for a new brewmaster (looking at one from NY recently). Hopefully WBC will get back on top again.

Great staff, food and beers! Been back a few times and will continue to do so. Nice chill atmosphere.

After the head brewer and principal founder left the company, a few months ago, they’ve now temporarily closed until May 2024.

First problem is they have to ID everyone before they let anyone into the dining room. Once you've gained exclusive access to the seating and menu (middle floor), you're greeted by wait staff who seemed annoyed that our presence had interrupted their free time. Atmosphere was good, but dim lighting made it hard to see. Food is good, but expensive for the level of service you receive. We were sitting in one of only 3 tables, but seldom had the opportunity to ask for something. I'm pretty sure our waitresss spent the entirety of our visit on her phone in the back. My question to her regarding this was responded to with a snarky sarcastic comment. My dining experience ended here. Thankfully, the ambience and food presentation were able to keep my guests from noticing what a sub-par establishment to which I had brought them. I hope this place improves. It has potential.

The food and drinks at Watauga are good, there is plenty of space, and the rooftop is a nice place to chill. Each of the three floors has something to offer. The first floor is primarily a brewery but also offers select wine and cocktails, and also a food menu. The first floor also has shuffle board and live music on select evenings. The second floor is primarily a restaurant but also has beer, wine, and cocktails. The rooftop appears to specialize in cocktails but also has a full beer menu. The service can be a little suspect depending on when and which floor you visit, but I've never had a problem on the rooftop. I recommend visiting the rooftop and trying some of their cocktails and beers, then visiting one of the lower levels to sample the food menu.

One of the original founders and head brewer - Ted Catron - left in July, and sadly the quality of beer on tap has diminished dramatically. Thus, I can no longer vouch for the quality of beer on tap.

Rude serving staff. Absolutely disrespectful front host checking IDs. Disgusting brewery. Don't both coming unless you would like to be waiting for service or enjoy getting reprimanded upon entering the premises.

Great atmosphere and view. Very nice folks who work there... They even changed the music to play our requests!

Lovely rooftop atmosphere and bar! All three levels have a unique vibe for all to enjoy!

I want to leave an informative review to inspire ownership to look for solutions to the lack of service and what appears to be mass confusion by the wait staff on how the restaurant is to be managed. I’m not trying to throw stones at the service but it is a constant theme. 3 stars because the food and drink are good if and when it is delivered. We Saturday the 13th my friends and I visited Watagua Brewery for a late lunch and drinks. Initially we showed up at approximately 1:30 PM and the downstairs was full of craft vendors. There was not a hostess and getting the bartenders attention was difficult. The bartender said we could seat ourselves or visit the second floor. We decided to visit the second floor. More vendors were on the second floor and again it was difficult to find someone that worked at Watauga for service. I went to the food counter and found someone to answer my questions. They told us the second floor did not open until five, and that the rooftop was closed until three. We went back down to the first floor and found a table that was suitable for six. Three of us were attempting to order at the bar. One of our orders was taken immediately. The bartender then went and spoke with other patrons who had drinks and food for several minutes while we waited with no drinks. Eventually the bartender came back to us and didn’t take our orders. I asked for a towel to bus our table and then the bartender cleaned our table and took our order. We had other friends join us and they ordered drinks but they were delivered to the wrong people. The food was good. We were never offered new drinks. I went to the bar to order two more rounds, and as soon as the bartender saw me, they turned around and went into the kitchen. There was no one else in the same area as us who was waiting for food. I feel the bartender was literally avoiding me and work. When we got the tab, eventually, it was all put on one. It was looking like breaking the tab up would be very time consuming so we paid as one. We were initially told that the upstairs opened at 3 PM. We were retreated to the upstairs shortly after 3 PM to find that they were only offering beer and nothing else. When we attempted to order a mixed drink, they explain that it would be another 45 minutes before they would be ready to serve any mixed drinks. At approximately 3:50 PM they just close the garage door windows and we’re not serving at all upstairs. So we had to go back downstairs to the first floor to order drinks for the third floor. All of the wait staff seemed to be confused about hours of operation, service techniques, how to work the billing software, and just confused in general. This is a recurring theme when we visit Watauga and that’s such a bummer. Hopefully ownership will reach out for help before this beautiful venue closes. We will not give up and hope to provide more patronage soon.

We had some family in visiting and decided it was high time to try Watauga Brewing. I had sampled a couple of their beers on guest taps. It was nice to go in and have more variety! The only downside to the beer were no dar selections. A brown, Porter or stout would have been nice for those who love the dark beers. Everyone ordered burgers. I had the brewers burger and did the ups charge for the jalapeño grits. All of us loved our burgers! They were pricey but tasty! We tried all their beers and the Czech beer was the fave. The highlight of the whole experience was our beertender/server Dylan. He was knowledgeable about the beers and food suggestions. He was attentive but not over bearing. He was just awesome! We asked him to be in the family photo we took to commemorate our visit! Can’t wait to go back and try more of the food menu and hoping they get some more fall beers and dark beers on tap!

Good beer, friendly staff. Cute rooftop…not much of a view to be seen but nice nonetheless.
