Great pizza. Excellent service. Family owned place. A must try in Knoxville. The owners are wonderful people.

We came in an hour before the St Patrick’s day parade was set to begin. It was busy, but the two ladies working were wonderful. The lady working the oven was a beast. She was putting orders out left and right! If there was a slow moment, the other girl jumped right in to help. The food was a great deal and very tasty. We got two 2 pieces and a pizza roll. We will definitely come back. Great value and great service.

I honestly feel bad for the staff here. It must be very tiring for the person at the counter to have to WARN the customers that they don’t bake the whole pizza with the toppings on it. The staff was all very kind. The place was very clean and well kept. Probably because they don’t stay that busy. The pizza rolls here are excellent and I would recommend them. That’s the only reason I’m not completely disappointed with this place. They fully bake the pizza rolls, thank goodness. But I resent that they don’t bake the actual pizzas with the cheese and toppings on top. I think they also only had three topping options (cold pepperonis, cold olives, cold peppers) and they just give it to you raw in a sad little cup. This is a style of pizza that honestly should just die out because it sucks. No wonder you don’t see Ohio styled pizza places everywhere, because it is not good. Like all things that have been in this one location on Gay Street, I’m sure this place will die out naturally on its own.

We were in the mood for pizza and DiCarlo's had a 2 slice special for $5. Perfect. We also got a couple of bottles of water for $3. Fair prices. When the pizza came out, we were surprised to see unmelted shredded provolone on top. But it did melt on the hot pizza slices! Great idea. The sign said "taste the best" and it was. We enjoyed the crunchy on the bottom and melted cheese on top. We also like the choice of programming on the tv - Let's Make a Deal & Password. Nostalgia! The bathrooms were clean and big enough for a wheelchair. I'm always cognizant of this since my girlfriend needs wheelchair accessible places to go. Inside was also accessible - wide areas, with tile that looks like wood planks. The gentleman who took our order and made our pizza was personable and efficient. He told us that his was the only DiCarlo's outside of Ohio AND with indoor seating. This was a pleasurable lunch venue with good pizza and good service!

The pizza is OK but the owner doesn't give his employees the tips the customers leave. It's not only illegal it's immoral. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I will NEVER spend my money at this establishment!!

Ordered a pizza for delivery. Staying at the Hyatt hotel located next door to DiCarlo's. Paid an extra $10 to have the pizza delivered to our room. Delivery person basically walked 80 feet from their door to the front desk at the hotel and left our food there. Don't know how long it sat there before I got a notification that our food was delivered. I opened our room door and it wasn't there so I headed to the front desk and found it there. Our Pizza was ice cold and the taste was marginal at best. I have had DiCarlos in Ohio and West Virginia and loved it. Not sure what's going on at this location...

The place is immaculate and the service is great every time I go. The pizza is weird, don't get me wrong, and it's not always my favorite cup of tea, but you can't review it a one star experience when you just don't like the style of pizza. Go to Wikipedia and read about Ohio Valley style before ordering from a Ohio valley style pizzeria. If you didn't like it then fine, take it as a new experience and judge it for what it is, not for what you wanted it to be.

Delicious spin on pizza! Toppings and cheese added fresh after baking. The service was pleasant and prompt. It had the feel of an old school northern pizza joint. We will be back and highly recommend if you're looking for great pizza with a different approach.

Crust is crispy, sauce ok, the cheese goes on after and was cold and not melted. Not enough pepperoni and also cold. This is their style but not ours. Wouldn’t return -

I really enjoyed the pizza. Adding the toppings after the bake makes it the perfect temperature for consumption after a couple minutes sitting. No chance you're going to burn the roof of your mouth! The cheese does melt. Just give it a minute or two and enjoy your cold bottled domestic. Not much ambiance as far as the sitting area.

I grew up in a small community in the Ohio Valley, and DeCarols was the spot we all went to for pizza. Seeing them here in Knoxville brings so many fond memories of eating their pizza on the front porch with my grandparents.

Worst pizza ever. Cold pepperoni. Cheese was cold and not melted. Just plain bad. We were not able to even eat it.
