Wait time is incredibly long, chips were stale, tacos were underwhelming. Waiting for a table, ordering, and receiving food took almost 3 hours.

Service was not good. Took forever to flag down a waitress to order food.We were disappointed with the food. Wasnt as good as the last visit. Cooks did not pay attention to the tickets to make. Several dishes had onions and pico de gallo which were not supposed to be on the food. Queso dip had no flavor to it. Just blah.

The steak burrito is very good. We ordered the queso and chips as an appetizer and was charged $6 for literally a handful of chips and about 4 ounces of queso. The ground beef on top of the queso was pointless as well. Also we ordered a side of rice, for $3 we got maybe a quarter of a cup served in those small bowls they use at Chuy's for salsa. Service is always super slow at this place, probably why they have to charge so much for so little, you can't turn over tables if your servers aren't moving people along.

Three things stand out to me...1) the bar service... "Cat", Sara, and Steph are phenomenal2) the habanero salsa is incredible3) the tofu tacos with slaw is better than anything you can get in Knoxville

Every time I walk in the door, I feel like family I get greeted. I feel like they remember me and no exactly what I want. My favorite server is Cheryl Miller. She always comes to me immediately and takes care of all of my needs and we share a laugh. It’s an amazing neighborhood place to go. I’m very grateful that we have it.

Food prices continue to go up while service has slowed down. It's as great spot for singo on Thursdays and their brunch specials are decent (if they don't run out of potatoes.)

Great tacos. I didn’t really care for the beans so would probably just get the tacos next time. It was rather loud and crowded on a Friday night at 7 but still had a great time.

The wife and I visited SoKnox Taco Cantina for the first time today, and unfortunately, it left much to be desired. The service was incredibly slow, making the dining experience frustrating from the start. To add to the disappointment, when my food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best and some items were even cold. This not only affected the taste but also raised concerns about the food safety practices in the kitchen.Overall, the combination of slow service and subpar food temperature left me thoroughly disappointed. Regrettably, I doubt I'll be returning to SoKnox Taco Cantina in the future. After talking with our waiterest we didn't get to charge for the entrees. But, the manager could make time to address the issues with us directly.

Two stars instead of zero because staff was nice and attentive and service was reasonably prompt. The food was a cultural affront. We had tacos and a tamale with rice & beans, and the chips and salsa. It was Mexican gone suburban hipster, bland and maligned. My fault for not reading the menu closely before I ordered, but the bbq sauce on the pork belly taco was a gastronomic abortion. The salsas that came with the chips (not complimentary) had all the zest of styrofoam. I've had better beans in army canned rations. The tamale was merely, mercifully mediocre. The bottled Modelo was a few degrees too warm. The Xul Mexican lager draft was typical Knoxville microbrew disappointment that tried too hard. If you want decent tacos, go to Soccer Taco or La Herradura. If food isn't important and you're just looking for occasion for yet more K-town gentrified swill, knock yourself out.

With previous living time in Tucson, AZ we are always on the lookout for a good Mexican spot to revive our love for the Hispanic culture and food. A local contact referred us to this eat spot this week, excited to try a local taco & Mex cuisine we optimistically opted in and landed on site during the lunch hour. On first glance, parking was simple to use and the eatery had lots of outdoor seating for those more spring like Knox days - today was not one of those so we entered in and were quickly seated. The setting is colorful and the music was upbeat and fun listening. Due to the metal and concrete throughout the building, the downside of having a quiet conversation is a no go and only gets more difficult as crowds build and everyone raises their voice to get heard. Our waitress upon arrival at our table seemed genuinely kind but clearly not "gifted" at her craft, finding our simple order challenging to get collected on the order tab - Flag. We all journeyed through the experience and prepared for the taco plates we ordered .. waiting .. then waiting .. and waiting - Flag. 1/2 hour in the waitress came over to our table and said that our order had been "lost" and the kitchen staff was working on it right now. So we waited .. Flag .. 10 minutes later the food arrived and we were thankful to have eats after a near 45 minutes in we dove in. We both opted for the lunchtime special, two tacos of choice, chips and salsa of choosing. I must admit I was a bit surprised by the spartan nature of the chips delivered (think I counted 8 on my order). The tacos were delivered foil wrapped which was OK. Here is the downside: - No condiments or extra napkins on the tables (YIKES) so if you need any of them (salt, pepper, hot sauce) certainly ask but we were unsure why nothing was set out. - Salsa was nondescript with meager portions (no offer to refill), not flavorful or spicy (we tried the Pico & Verde), no attention from our waitstaff to see if we had any needs during the meal. - Tacos we tried were Carne Asada (steak), Carnitas (shredded pork) and Camarones (shrimp), only the carne Asada was AA sadly. The Shrimp was uncharacteristically cooked in a gravy like sauce (we are used to steamed shrimp with lime, onion, cilantro and cabbage - fresh tasting). Honestly, we expected some consideration in lunch cost or some generosity of food due to waiting near an hour to get served (and it was not overly busy) but that was not to be. A small apology by our waitstaff was all that happened. The eating capper sadly for me was was after we arrived home that same day, about 6 hours after lunch eats, I had a post taco visit response (thinking it was the "gravyized" shrimp tacos) that lasted an hour in the throne-room - bummer. Needless to say a return trip for us is not in the cards and from two seasoned taco and Mexican food regulars, we will most certainly pass on any return to this spot in the near future.

Great staff, wonderful service. Well priced drinks. Only thing I'd say was remotely negative was the tiniest amount of queso they give you for the price. And sometimes parking is awful depending on the time of day. Other than that, I absolutely recommend!

Been here a few times and the food is always excellent. I'm not a bean fan by any stretch, but the way theirs are cooked always makes me want more! The service seems to be hit or miss, and I think a lot of that depends on how busy they are. The burritos and quesadillas are great and their smokey hot salsa has an amazing flavor. The margaritas were VERY salty but decently strong so that's definitely a plus.

Loved my tacos, especially the shrimp taco. The waitress kept my tea glass full as well and the es a es cocktail was excellent. I liked the salsa as well!
