In the area and decided to stop in for breakfast. The waitress was very friendly and courteous and the food was great! The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The bakery items smelled and looked amazing; we will definitely be back to give those a try!Kid-friendliness: They had a very cute area that children could sit and color then hang their art on the wall! Thoughtful touch!

We had a gtrat Saturday morning breakfast. The western omelet was fluffy and filled full of delicious veggies, ham, and cheese. The best! Excellent hash brown casserole. We left with bakery goods and will be back. Thanks!

Donuts were ok, the lemon filled one was actually really good. Service was really poor. The girl that got my donuts just left me standing there while she helped other customers. We decided to sit down for breakfast and ordered within about 10 mins. We waited for our food for over 40 minutes, at which point there was only one other table without food, before asking how much longer. They hadn't even started making our food yet. The server never once came back over to ask if we needed anything or to update us on wait time. We canceled our order, paid for our drinks, and left with no intent to return.

Ordered cupcakes for my wedding. I contacted J Clayborn’s bakery a few weeks before the wedding and sent them an email with a photo of some floral cupcakes that I wanted for my wedding. They told me they could decorate them something similar to what I’d asked for, but they really didn’t come through. The cupcakes I received were partially decorated, except a set of about 12 beautifully decorated floral cupcakes. Here are photos of what I asked for compared to what I received. I ordered over 60 cupcakes and only about a dozen were decorated similarly to what I’d asked for and only other 12 were anything but plain cream colored/white cupcakes. Most of them looked unfinished without any greenery/leaves surrounding the flowers. Disappointed. Would suggest anyone looking for specialty cupcakes to seek services elsewhere. Three stars because at least we received the right amount of cupcakes on time, they tasted great.We opted for cupcakes instead of a wedding cake so the cupcakes were supposed to be the star of the show; I was disappointed and would have liked the decorator to put a little more effort into making our cupcakes. It would have meant a lot. I hate writing bad reviews so I’ve edited this three times to be more gracious. Just a bummer.Edit: no one attempted to reach out to apologize or respond to my review even though these cupcakes were for my wedding (in place of a wedding cake). These were supposed to be beautiful and they only really put decorating effort into about 12 of them. Having these poorly decorated cupcakes was the equivalent to having a noticeably badly decorated wedding cake. The lady I spoke with told me they could decorate them as the photo showed and I paid the money for that but then failed to provide the discussed finished product. One star. They didn’t come anywhere remotely CLOSE. This was for my wedding. Thanks for the disappointment.

My wife and I are new in town. We're self proclaimed bakery snobs, I'm professionally trained in culinary arts and from Chicago. We've only tried the donuts, but it looks like we found a true old school bakery that's delicious. Prices were reasonable, as well. We'll be back to try the cafe, and for more delicious goodies. Everything looked so wonderful, it will be hard to choose! Great job, and cool back story/family history!
