Traveled into Knoxville for a weekend getaway and I had found this recommendation from a user on Reddit. So glad we came because it was the best meal of our entire trip and the service was incredible! Jason was the best server we have had in awhile. All of the food was 10/10

Very disappointing first experience. Service started off good with manager also checking in as well, (would've been nicer to have the extra check-in later, once we had our food & when our drink glasses were empty again & again). Thought odd that there was no complimentary bread offered, which would have been ideal with my husband's salad & my pasta. Pasta dish started off ok, but the more I ate, it was just way too salty. At best, very different/interesting with squash, walnuts, etc. At worst, salty mush. Husband's steak and fries were ok. All portions were small for the price. As we were leaving, we noticed other tables had cute little bread skillets. We asked & were told complimentary bread is available "upon request". Certainly would've been more useful info to first-timers upon arrival. Frankly, this feels cheap & tacky not to offer & ensure all customers are aware of bread offerings upfront. We've had some poor dining experiences lately, but none that left us feeling just flat out ripped off. Over $100 for 2 people was maddening. Also, we were sat back by the open kitchen, but know that I didn't see any area here that would be considered any kind of intimate setting.

I’ve been there several times. In the past I ordered a medium rare steak it was seared on the outside, and the whole thing was cold.Went there for lunch recently ordered a salad and asked for a skewer of shrimp. 10 minutes later the waiter walked by and I asked where the salad was. He said he would check came back a few minutes later and said it’d be out soon and then a few minutes later he came back and said they were out of shrimp.I won’t go back the salad looks like it been sitting somewhere for a long time it was all wilted. I asked for the dressing on the side. I won’t go back.

I'll start with I will try again. Hoping it was a bad night with the new chef. Only because I want this place to be good. I ordered the highest priced item on the menu. That's how I judge a place the first time. Elk loin with a coffee rub. The first piece out of two was ok, had a decent taste and was cooked to med rare like I asked. The second piece was overcooked. I've have pot roasts better. This $50 dish just took a dive. Didn't start with, but the wedge salad was perfect! The old fashion, just ok. No craft ice, auto ok with me for that. I'll have a better one and home and be $14 richer. Actually, I may not return. $170 I can cook anything better at home. Good luck WK!

Steaks were good but a little pricey considering everything is al'a carte. No bread and side salad was extra.

Went with my Mother-in-law for her birthday and it was wonderful. Food tasted great, portions were decent for the price. It is an upscale restaurant and I do recommend making a reservation like we did because it was packed. The shrimp and grits were fantastic and I recommend them and the Mac n cheese for kids!

used to love it here- but sit up front. The back feels more like a Pub setting, open kitchen, too just so many back and forth - if i am paying 50 dollars for a steak - i want a server that knows what he’s talking about, and really makes the evening special - everything seemed lackluster - can’t really pin point it. The steak was very bland and tough - maybe an off night. Wow me next time; like the first few times we went there. But don’t sit in the back - too much going on…. great wine selection and the bar is incredibly well done

Came here with the family and upon arrival, we told the hostess that we were expecting one more person than the reservation noted. They did not skip a beat and made accommodations for us. Our server, Grace, was the most attentive and professional server we've had in a long time. The food was terrific, the ambiance was spot on, and the evening was perfect. Thanks Walnut Kitchen for another wonderful dining experience.
