Best BBQ I have ever had. Ordered the brisket. Tender, cut into tiny pieces, and the sauce is to die for. Yummy ? will definitely come back next time I am in Memphis. The people that work there were sooo nice. Highly recommend ?
I ordered a turkey burger with fries. Turkey was not seasoned and had a distinct taste, kinda like it was old, too it. My friend ordered rib tips and a rib plate. Meat needs more season. I don't recommend. Won't be back.

This was my first time here. When I say the cashier Antoinette gave great recommendations and she was friendly as well. Everything I had was exceptional. The next time I’m in Memphis I will definitely be backParking: Not enough parking places
Best BBQ in Memphis and not up for debate! I was born & raised in Memphis but have lived in Texas for 10 years. When I come home, this is literally my FIRST stop every time. Everything is soooo good & always fresh. The bbq spaghetti is the delicious, sweet & tangy with a bit of heat, my favorite side. I live for the fried bologna, smoked sausage, and pulled pork sandwiches. The sauce is savory, sweet & flavorful. I purchase the bbq seasoning & sauce every time I go to make sure I'm stocked when I'm back home in Texas. Service is normally pretty quick and sometimes there is a wait, but it's worth it. Perfect for a large group or just a few. I cannot attest for the other A&R locations, because I only go to this location, the original. It is & has always been the best since I was a child.

One of the best BBQ joints in the city. I said "one of the best," not the BEST because there are quite a few BBQ places that can claim that spot. A&R BBQ will not disappoint you. Don't go in there expecting 5 star service it's a BBQ joint...

Decent BBQ. I had the rib plate, catfish, hot link sandwich, fried okra, seasoned fries, and baked beans.Disclaimer. This review is probably more personal preference. Being that I'm from Southeast texas, I ate food with lots of flavoring and seasoning. Creole, Louisiana influence and now I live in Dallas. Tons of food choices with high quality restaurants. I'm a true foodie.I heard good reviews of this place and so I decided to try them out. In texas, I'm used to a dry rub. That means meat is seasoned and the seasoning is cooked onto meat. You can cook barbecue sauce onto the meat too, and then continue cooking. The flavor and seasoning gets cooked directly into the meat with the smoke. The barbecue sauce will get caramelized into the meat.In memphis, it seems like the sauce is the star of the show. Not my thing. Meat lacks flavor. So did the catfish. Heck a little Tony chachere's would been a bit of an upgrade in flavor. The ribs were smokey and tender but, to me it lacked flavor and seasoning. So did the catfish. I grew up eating spicy food so my taste buds may be skewed. That being said, it was busy so I know lots of people believe this spot has great food. Being that the sauce is the star of the show, there's more of a mustard, vinegar taste that leaves you with a bit of a tangy feel. Not bad... but without sauce, I wouldn't be able to enjoy just the meat by itself. I do believe most people will enjoy this place. Not my thing. I give it a solid B rating or 4 stars.I'm about to try their caramel cake. We'll see how it goes ??♂️

This is a prime example of south Memphis barbecue! I recommend the rib tips - and show up hungry, or you'll never finish the incredible portions of food they dish out. I want to go back and try more!
