I am very disappointed. I made reservation to have my birthday dinner at this nice establishment because of the hype of the food, but the service my guest and I received was very very disappointing. As the birthday girl I wanted it to be a good experience for me and my guests, but instead it was horrible my people started leaving because of the timing. My reservation was at 5 and we left there at 7:45 some left before then because we didn’t get the proper service. The drinks was on point but I felt like we shouldn’t have paid for that because of the wait time and the poor service. I can understand if the building was packed out but it wasn’t and I had made reservation just so we can get that experience. The waiter was skipping over some of my guest. I’m not the type to bash or talk bad about people but they really could have done a better job on how they handled things it was unacceptable and I will not have anything else at this establishment.

Was part of a birthday celebration for a group of 14 or more. The reservation was for 5pm and at 745pm we still was waiting on food and drinks was half served. The entire celebration was ruined not to mention the most uncomfortable chairs I sat in my life. Overrated and under served, smh! If the servers was more focused on customers instead of try to be cute, it might be potential but after 4/14/24, I will not return no time soon. The place itself is mediocre, tables was dirty, extension.cords visible on the floor, dirty work areas. Don't recommend not for the prices and yeah no appetizers on the Sunday menu and we didn't want nothing that was offered. So Overrated!

It took 15 minutes just for someone to come greet us at our table. & when we did get drinks, the water tasted off and my drink was wrong.. and it took another 30 mins to get my right drink.. what was supposed to be just a quick 30 minute, MAYBE hour long meal had us in there for 2 whole hours. Parts of everyone in my group’s orders was wrong because our server didn’t write anything down.. The food was good I was reallyjust upset about the service. There’s auto gratuity and I feel it reflects in the service, they dont really try because they know there will be a tip off rips.

So We were in a reserved party of about 15 guest for a birthday dinner. This was the first time many of Us had visited this establishment. We were taken to Our seats and given water and then due to spacing, We were given the option to transfer rooms to the hookah lounge. The Chairs were very uncomfortable, The waitress was all over the place as if it was Her first day. She took drink orders for half the party and We had to get Her attention to ask to place an order. By this time We had been there right at an hour. Then it took Her another 45 minutes to come take Our food order. Mind You that the guests that We already in and seated were eating already. There were two Ladies that came in and sat at the table, it took them all of 15 minutes to get drinks, food and a hookah. The waitress seemed very unbothered. The party that I was in started to get restless needless to say and asking about Our orders. She stated that the kitchen was backed up.... We were all like really how? Everyone was eating except for Us. She then stated that She was going back to the kitchen to check on the orders and in about 5 to 10 minutes later, She returned with two bowls in Her hand. Once with dressing and the other with ox tails. .... LOL She had the audacity to tell Us that what She had was what the kitchen staff had prepared and had a few other sides plated and that We could pick what We wanted. By this time, some had started cancelling orders. She seemed very unbothered, untrained and Her Customer Service skills were HORRIBLE. We received great reviews on how good the food and drinks were, but due to lack of staff on this particular day and dealing with a waiter that clearly was overwhelmed. We still didn't find out for Ourselves.Who knows maybe this was just a one off. I will maybe down the road give it another try before I just say that never again. I think that management however could have done a better job at staffing if the party was on a reservation.Parking: ample amounts of space to park

Upon arrival we had reservations well we waited 40 minutes to be seated. Upon being seated. We waiting 40 minutes for our drinks that came in STYROFOAM CUPS. We then order food. And waiting another 35 minutes for appetizers to come out. We ask for some small (saucers) or plates. We receive paper plates. We ask for eating utensils and we receive this cute napkin with plastic utensils. ? The Brussels sprouts was not done. The stuffed lobsters was burnt. The dipping bread for lobsters was hard as table. Water cup was empty 15 minutes before a refill was bought to table. Ticket was $210. Morral of story me and friends travels just to eat. BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO CHARGE LUXURY PRICES YOU HAVE TO GIVE LUXURY SERVICE. I DONT CARE ABOUT THIS BEING MEMPHIS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

Cotton candy Margarita was really tasty! Great vibes, good and friendly bartenders, and clean ladies restroom. There was a beautiful electric violin player the night i visited and she was extremely talented and entertaining!

I post this with great trepidation, however, I do so hoping that management will do whatever it takes to turn things around. I've eaten at C42 approximately five times and this last time was extremely disappointing. A girlfriend and I plan to do lunch there to celebrate our birthdays and looked forward to having the oxtails with red beans and rice which is how they are normally served. We received the oxtails and nothing else. When we questioned it, we were told that's all you get....just oxtails. I explained that each time, previously, the red beans and rice were served with the oxtails. I asked if I could order them as a side dish and was told that they didn't have any. I asked what sides did they have and was told they had mac and cheese and mashed potatoes but the potatoes were still being mashed. I ended ordering mac and cheese. I decided to ask for the chef and Steve came to the table. I questioned them selling oxtails without the red beans and rice and he said they had red beans and rice but it would take awhile to prepare them. He also said that he could rush them. By this time we had eating some of the oxtails and decided to take the rest home but also waited for the red beans and rice. After about 40 mins, the server brought the them to the table and I immediately thought the rice looked like something out of a box and they tasted awful. There was not a bean to be found..Just rice, which, I trashed upon arriving home. Obviously, C42 I s having major kitchen issues and if not corrected, the business will not be around much longer. It is my hope that they can pull it together because I actually like C42 and prior to this incident, I had been very satisfied. But, 32.00 for oxtails with no sides. Come on!!!!!!! I know you all can do better because you're did it before!!!!

We were visiting from out of town for my birthday (party of 9) we had been dying to try it since it opened. The hostess was great and our server was great. The atmosphere is wonderful but food was not so great. I ordered surf and turf which was filet and lobster tail. My lobster was cold and over cooked. My steak I ordered was not well done. They bought me another lobster tail and it was ok , better than the first one. I sent my steak back and ask if they could cook it correctly. They sent a remake of the steak and it was more rare than the first. They did take it off my ticket. All seafood was overcooked, some of my friends ordered oysters, and shrimp all overcooked and hard. The drinks were wonderful and my appetizer was good lobster queso and chips. The service from kitchen was really slow and it wasn’t busy at the time we went. The waitress did ask us to come back and try again she didn’t know what was going on with the kitchen. I definitely will not go back. I will post a pic of my second steak they served me. I think they may just need to get new cooks.

DISHONEST WORKERS!! Visited for a birthday. A guest paid for the birthday girl's dinner & left. Waitress didn't let her know & charged her again. Once we found out someone else paid for the same meal, she called & no one could do anything because waitress gave no receipt. I also left my jacket on the seat. A worker stole it.And please don't order ore than 1 Wokesha. I ordered 2. The second one was in a much smaller cup but it was still the same price. When i asked waitress she said whomever made the drink said that's the only cups they had (untrue). But they serve the drink with two cups! And other people were ordering Wokesha & received the correct size. We were charged gratuity in our checks and I left a nice additional tip. Never going back!
