I have had bbq from all over the United States and I cannot believe that this is 1 of the top rated ones.The beans tasted like they came out of a can and the bread was disgusting. Now, the beef brisket sandwich was good but definitely not the best. My husband had the ribs and he was not impressed. He said that maybe this batch was under seasoned.

Service is good. Smoked sausage is good. Pulled pork is a little dry but good with their excellent cole slaw. Pulled pork needs more fat, but I don't use any sauce. Poplar Ave spot is noisy, but that doesn't stop me from eating there regularly.

Showed up on a Saturday 7:30 out of Rib, Brisket, and some chicken options. Which would be fine if there was a sign warning you when you walked in. Get the food most of it was cold and the order was wrong. Poor service. Worst dining experience I have had in awhile. Do not recommend.

Amazing Memphis BBQ experience. Great place to bring out of town quests. Besides the incredible BBQ, the Cole Slaw had a very unique flavor; some of the best I've ever eaten.
This is a highly regarded bbq joint in tiwn and so when I visited, I had to try it. The sauces are the weak point. They have four sauces, a mild and hot bbq as well as a mustard and a vinegar. The mustard is nice with a good pop on the front. The vinegar is a bit too acidic, I was expecting an east carolina style to go with pulked pork but it lacks the peppery character that makes a good vinegar sauce. The mild bbq is nice and sweet with a good mouthfeel, while the spicy drops some sweetness for a tabasco level kick. The pulled pork is excellent and the chicken did not fail. The turkey had incredible flavor but mine was a tad dry. Overall, it was a really strong meal and I think you could do a lot worse. Bon appetit!

Please rid of curbside pickup if you all can’t fulfill the task. This is the second time I’ve ordered curbside pickup but have had to go inside because no one ever came outside to deliver my order.
Got our food fast, But it was cold, I had a brisket plate & my daughter had pork nachos, (both were cold).I went to find a mgr and had her come feel the brisket to show it was cold. She said they keep their food warm to 170°, but this was Cold. The brisket actually looks cold in the picture I added.She took our plates & brought back slightly warmer with new brisket & pulled pork.All n all The Food tasted really good! Mac N cheese was delicious. I prefer my food to be served hot tho. Food would have been great if it had been hot.

Have frequented Central as my Memphis bbq stop for years. First time at this location and it was disappointing. Ribs were a bit tough and lacked any discernible seasoning. Pulled pork was average. None of the sauces really delivered. The greens were quite good, however. Wouldn’t return to this location. I’d probably try another one in the future but with some hesitation.

The quality of the BBQ is not real consistent. It used to be our favorite BBQ place but when we’ve gone in the last year or so, it’s been really hit or miss. This last time I had the brisket and it was dry and not super tender. I’m guessing it was a day old and had been refrigerated. I’ve had similar issues with the pork bbq. When it’s on, it’s hard to beat. They just need to step up their attention to quality.
