Hi Tone Dive Bar • $

“Super small, great BIG vibe. Shout out to Left Lane Cruisers! They hold concerts downstairs and upstairs. We were upstairs. My boyfriend was an a$$, but Joe was awesome. And, the drinks and jello shots were cheap! Tickets are only fifteen bucks. Very well lit. Lots of cameras near the entrances. I would definitely go back.“

“It was amazing to meet people from all over the states and the world! The live band was great! I enjoyed my time in Nate’s Bar upstairs. Ray Charles, BB King, Jack White, Loretta Lynn, and the names go on to the great musicians who’ve stopped here to eat or do a little more. It’s also said to be haunted! Make sure to say Hi to Nate upstairs he’s worked there for over 30 years and has some stories! Also try the soul burger!“

“Placed a pick up order via phone. The person taking the order was nice. I had never been to this place before. It’s your typical dive bar but it was packed on a Saturday late afternoon. FYI this is a CASH ONLY establishment. Maybe there is a sign in the building that I missed that said this but I definitely wasn’t told when I placed my order via phone. Paid $31 for cheeseburger and fries and about 7 small drummies. Seems a little expensive but maybe this is the typical price for dive bar food. I was never shown a receipt so I can’t tell you the price for each item. Food was fine.“

“The Special at Zinnies always taste’s like it was stolen from a kitchen in Heaven. It doesn’t matter what it is from meatloaf on mashed potatoes with a side of Brussel sprouts to roasted chicken with a spinach rice pilaf it is 5 stars every single time.“

Beale Street Tap Room Dive Bar • $$
168 Beale St, Memphis

“Stopped by to hear Princess sing! And she didn't disappoint!! She was our bus driver on a recent tour of Memphis. The bar was typical of the area, but with New Orleans style food which was delicious...it's cooked in a central kitchen that services a few of the honky tonk bars in a row. Very informal, paper goods, etc. All drinks are about the same on Beale Street...nothing special.....but hey, the music is great, and that's why I went there in the first place.“

“Had a great time at Mommas tonight. The Dive Tai was pretty strong! I enjoyed it. Sitting on the patio was nice and relaxing. Smoky wings were juicy and good. Chili was thick and flavorful. I really liked the fries. They were more like potato wedges so don’t skip the fries. Our waitress was really nice and even when I was just sitting there in a random spot waiting on my friend someone checked on me. Can’t wait to go back!“

Club Handy Bar • $
200 Beale St, Memphis

“Loved the outdoor seating especially having the under 21 crowd with me. Drinks were a little pricey and not much alcohol taste for the price. Anyway it was a great experience for my daughter to catch some live blues music being played while taking a walking break from the July heat.“

“A true hidden gem. This is one of the oldest bars in Memphis. There's a pool table, eclectic DIY atmosphere, music venue in an adjacent space, local beer and usually even cider on tap. The food is honestly better than dive bar food has any right to be. The menu isn't huge, but it's decent-sized and quite varied. The burgers and fries are above average (they use coconut oil for frying), and I quite like their sandwiches (The Chess Club is my personal favorite). They also cater to a late night vegan crowd, so you have options like cauliflower wings, vegan Mac and cheese, hummus, and other vegan options. Regular music, incredible drag shows, biweekly local markets...this place is honestly a treasure.“
