Great cigar lounge and bar. This place has a cozy atmosphere and friendly locals. The bar tender “Dee” was very friendly and mixed several nice drinks. The bar specializes as a Bourbon bar but also caters to other drinks as well. The bourbon selection was impressive, and I was able to get three whiskeys that I’ve sought out for years, including Weller full proof and Weller Antique. The owner introduced himself and several of the locals would share a story or two around the bar. We stayed for hours longer than planned and enjoyed watching sports on the tv over the bar. If you would like to enjoy a cigar and a nice whiskey, I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this establishment. The friendly and knowledgeable staff and locals make for a pleasant evening.

Kind of weird place. They had some really good bourbon. Bartender was not really interested in staying behind the bar. All drinks were served in a coffee cup? I must be missing something? There were some guys there enjoying some cigars, so i think it might be more of a cigar bar. This was a Friday night and not much traffic in and out.

I was first welcomed in to Fat Charlie's 2 years ago by their owner, Will the day after I moved to Harbor Town. He and his wife are great people and together they run this Memphis gem. If you like top shelf liquor, this is your vibe. This is the only place in Memphis with the selection of rums to this level and quality. The music is always on point and they have special events with some great live artists as well.

Came in on a Saturday night and the place was dark, with a long narrow lounge, and casual seating. The staff were nice and welcoming. I'm used to going to cigar lounges where you have a variety of cigars to choose from, but at this establishment, they pick one out for you based on what you normally prefer. Ironically, my husband and I had very different taste in cigars but ended up with the same cigar. Not sure what happened but we went with it. The drinks are all served in a ceramic cup which I believe they were trying to go for the prohibition theme, except our drinks were room temperature, not chilled or iced. For an old fashion and a lemon drop, you need the drink to be at least chilled. Because it was in a small ceramic cup, I feel like my cocktail was incredibly small, it was warm and it did not taste good. They nickeled and dimed us on the bill by charging us for the cocktail and the liquor separately then they charged a mandatory 20 percent tip after they handed us the signed copy of the bill with a tip suggestion of 10, 15, or 20 percent. No where does it state that a mandatory 20 percent tip was included in the final bill and why would you suggest I give you an additional tip after you already charged me a mandatory 20 percent? That is shady. Overall, the lounge was dark and the seating was pretty average. The cost for drinks and for how it taste was not worth it. The inability to pick your cigar limits your options and the fact they didn't disclose that a mandatory 20 percent tip, would make me not want to come back.
