This place has changed. Food and customer service used to be good here. Either the restaurant is under a new owner or the owner has a different priority than before. The portions are tiny. I ordered a $20/seafood delight and got a bird size portion. There are better Chinese restaurants in the area.

Golden City’s chicken with stringed beans is delicious! The chicken is tender. I loved the sauce as well. I commend Golden City for the ratio of meat to veggies. There’s not many places in this city where you are served healthily portioned plates.
I had the pepper steak lunch with egg drop soup. It was delicious and well worth the price. I have enough for lunch tomorrow.

Based on the recent article in Commercial Appeal, we tried Golden City. It was TERRIBLE, The absolute worst Chinese food I have ever had. Spent 18.95 for the CA recommended Salmon with peppers. Salmon was broken into a few bite size pieces and was extremely oily and fishy tasting. Even the rice was dry and flavorless. The entree did not include anything extra. No soup, no salad. just a nasty meal. Whoever wrote that article raving about Golden City must be getting a kickback. BUYER BEWARE. Do not ever go to this restaurant. I cannot emphasize how horrible it was.

I have ordered my favorite dish of Kung Pao Chicken for at least 40 years! I was looking forward to ordering here due to their ratings. Boy, was I disappointed!! In my 40 years of eating this dish, this is the first time I had it & it had little taste!!! The sauce was almost non-existent! No I don't have Covid. This was the worst Kung Pao I have ever had. Never again at this restaurant. Sorry!

excellent food and family-style atmosphere. i recommend ordering off the cantonese menu, not the american one. try the stuffed eggplant with special sauce (also known as kirin eggplant, 麒麟茄子)
