Ordered from the vegeterian option and have a picture of the food but for the sake of keeping the dignity of the restaurant ive decided not to post it here for. Ive never seen a sadder burrito in my life. I even asked the waitress if the owner was white or something because im not sure how someone with mexican heritage would have the ability to sell something like that without shame. I didnt think I would ever be offended by a plate of food but I actually felt insulted to be given that and told thats actually a burrito. I dont want to be too hard on the restaurant as im not from tennesse so I can give the benefit of the doubt that maybe just all restaurants in memphis suck since the entire city was devoid of any joy or vibrancy maybe this was the best food in the entire city for all I know. I pray to god for anyone that lives in that place. Service was ok

I was excited to try Happy Mexican. We went today (Sunday 8/24/33). They have been open for about 2 1/2 weeks so that is taken into consideration. Our server came and brought us a little glass container of salsa and a small bowl of chips. We ordered a cheese dip. It was a generous portion of cheese dip, which is the only positive thing I have to say about the entire experience. Do you think the server brought more chips when he brought the cheese dip? No, he did not. We ended up having to flag someone down so we could get another little bowl of chips while our cheese dip got cold. My partner ordered 4 enchiladas. They came with nothing. Just 4 enchiladas, no rice, no beans. The tortillas around the enchiladas were soaked with grease. I ordered steak fajitas. The fajitas came and the pieces of meat looked like worms, long and skinny. There were very few onions and peppers. It came with tortillas. And that's it. No tomatoes. No guacamole. No pico de gallo. No lettuce. No sour cream. I asked the waiter where the rest of my fajita makings were, specifically naming lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. He explained that since it was a dinner portion, those things were not included, then he left. I was in shock. He saw that I was NOT happy and went and got some pico de gallo and sour cream. He never came back. We did not have enough chips for our dip. The food, not even decent. Did anyone come around to check on us? Never. I could understand being new there may be some glitches. The restaurant was not very busy. There were definitely more than enough staff. So unfortunately, an epic fail for us. Our favorite food is mexican so we will go back to trusty Margarita's. They are always friendly and serve amazing food.

My food packages were not even slightly closed. Hardly an attempt to maintain quality. Taste of salsa and chips was amazing minus the whole pepper I found taking up a lot of space in the container. Spinach dip was extremely bland, and poured all over the place. Fajitas were good but the wraps were all wet from the dip and fajitas poured in the bag. It would have been great had someone cared about quality. $60 for a double fajita and Spinach dip is HIGH.

Went out with friends for drinks (I don't drink). They had a frozen margarita pitcher and loved it (a little too much!). I had the appetizer wings, which I enjoyed. Our server, Maddie (I hope I'm spelling it right!) was fantastic. She was never not smiling, was accommodating and pleasant, and had a fun personality. She was a joy and made the experience delightful. Thanks, Maddie!

Good Day! I would like to share the fact that I love this Happy Mexican Restaurant on Second Street in Downtown Memphis, TN. However, I would like to inform you on this particular waiter whom I have encountered numerous times while visiting this restaurant through the years. I love this restaurant convenience, atmosphere, food, drinks, and services on most visits. But, this particular waiter has been working at this Happy Mexican Restaurant for many years, pretty much since they have been open and operating. This waiter (Fernando or Fernandez, whichever is his name) has the most nasty, disturbing, rude, unpleasant, awful, harsh, mean, horrible, and just disgusting attitude on 90% of my encounters with him. I mean, when I see him coming, literally start praying to GOD for a decent experience with this waiter. Also, when I see this waiter (Fernando or Fernandez) come to the table that I'm sitting, I literally be thinking about getting up and just leave because I really don't trust him to make my food nor my drink. On my last encounter with the RUDE, MEAN, NASTY ATTITUDE waiter (Fernando or Fernandez) on Monday, July 24th, 2023 around 630pm, it was the worst, I was so embarrassed in front of my friend, whom I invited for dinner and drinks. My friend stated "OMG where did they get him from?" "He is the worst of all times, why is he so mean, rude, and just disrespectful for no reason?" I told her, "This is norm, but he is worse today for some reason and I'm tired of him mistreating me when I'm constantly being nice, respectful, and polite to him." I reported him to the manager on numerous occasions, even on this encounter on 7/24/23 reported him to the manager. Though, I don't know what is being done about him on how he treats the customers, I'm almost sure that I'm not the only customer that he treats so badly and I can bet that it's mostly African American women that gets this nasty, mean, rude, and horrible treatment from this guy (Fernando or Fernandez.) I don't know if you guys (Happy Mexican Restaurant) on Second Street Owners and Managers have paid or are paying close attention to your numbers, but I'm sure there have a decrease over the years or a shift downward at some point and most likely it came about due to this mean, rude, disrespectful waiter (Fernando or Fernandez) that you guys have on your team. I know that everyone who works must need their jobs, but this guy must go. He is not a good look for your business. Him alone have one like me scared to order any food or drink from your establishment. As mentioned earlier, I said 90% of my encounters with this waiter due to when my Husband and I come to this Happy Mexican Restaurant, his attitude is a little tolerable/decent. Moreover, that 10% of decent experience does not overshadow the 90% of rudeness, nastiness, meanness, and disrespectfulness that he demonstrates on a norm. We went here for dinner and the food was amazing as always. I ordered the fajitas nachos and they give you a lot of food. I was only able to eat a quarter of this plate pictured below. For the amount of food they give, 2 people can really share. The service was ok he took the order, brought the food, and had no checks in between. Other than that, everything else was great. I didn't have one this time, but the margaritas are really great too.

we only ordered two things a jumbo margarita for $14 dollars and happy nachos for $13 my wife and I just came for the drinks . the drink was suppose to contain top shelve alcohol and was very weak and water down and warm . the nachos were good but the beans were cold . when the check came our waiter tried to pull a fast one by presenting the check on top with the amount to be paid and the no itemized bill I had to request that . I was surprised to see she gave herself a 15 percent gratuity and presented the check and I pen . she almost got away with a second tip , when no tip at all should have been given the service was slow and we had to request things like silverware and napkins . tip her for bad service and cold food and water down drinks , we will never come back here they really suck !
