Torn on this. We greatly enjoyed listening to Chris perform (he is why we walked in in the first place). The service was friendly. The food was nothing to write home about, but decent.

Stoped in for a quick bite. We had the gumbo. The best we have ever had.

The food that we tried was pretty good, but it took a very very long time to come out even though it wasn't a big order and the place was not busy at all. The building itself was kind of cool, but that is pretty irrelevant to the quality of the restaurant.
A very picturesque place that is worth entering. Too bad the coffee is not of good quality.

I haven't been here in years and it has definitely gone down hill! It used to be a very nice elegant restaurant, not anymore. They service was young girls in hoodies and casual clothes and the kitchen staff kept coming out to the dinning room in dirty old tshirts and very unkept looking. It was valentines day so I wanted to treat my girlfriend. We came to the entrance and a young woman yelled across the room "y'all just sit whereva" . I ordered the bacon rapped shrimp with rice pilaf and vegetable medley. My girlfriend ordered a salad. I also ordered sweet tea and so did my girlfriend. The tea came in big plastic cups like the kind you would find at a pizza hut. Not a nice restaurant. When the food finally arrived (after a significant wait when there was very few customers) I received five very small shrimp and while they were excellent, the rice was cold and bland and the vegetables were soggy. My girlfriends salad was good but it should be for the outrageous prices. By far the worst dining experience I've ever had there. I do not recommend and with out major changes I will never be back. I also called to see if there was a wait due to valentines day and it went straight to voice mail. If I could rate it less than a star I would. Bring back the white button up shirts and properly trained wait staff. Keep the dirty looking cooks in the back. A big waste of money!

I'm a pretty generous guy when it comes to reviews, but this place absolutely exploited us for every penny. Not to forget to mention that the place was dirty and the chair I was sitting on was leaning forward and on the verge of breaking. My girlfriend and I only got one bowl of gumbo to split because we heard so much about it and we wanted to try everything Beale had to offer. Although it was tasty and we absolutely cleaned the plate, we were charged 30 dollars for "bottled waters" and a bowl of gumbo. We only got tap water yet we were still charged for it. I would've gave our server "Nate" a good tip because he was buttering us up and making us feel special but as soon as he left the check, he completely ignored us. The bowl of gumbo was supposed to be to be 20 dollars but with the "bottled waters" and his generous rounding to the nearest tenth, it was 30 bucks... The gumbo was good but if you really want to try it, place a carry out order and skip the service. They'll take a mile if you offer them an inch.
Be very careful about receipts. They overcharge you and are

Came here with Taylor from Tasting Round Town walking food tour and had the smoked wings. They were so good we came back for more and also had the fried green tomatoes, also delicious. Kim the bartender was very sweet and the staff was nice. Cowboy and the band were awesome.

The bbq pulled pork sandwich was very good and they were very generous with the bbq sauce. the customer service was good. the band was really good. The coleslaw side was very small.
