The man behind the counter with facial hair and a beanie was making food with ungloved hands while directly touching it with his fingers. I haven't seen this behavior in restaurant staff for years.

I grew up coming here and have always loved it but my resent visits have been awful about a week ago I came in and tried to order a bagel they told me they were understaffed and couldn't do food orders I understand that completely, I asked if they were hiring since they were to understaffed to make food and the girl told me no. Today I came in and the girl with the big septum got my order and I told her it was for here then when she called me name it was wrapped in aluminum foil and no bag for two Roy H specials with no sauce on the side . Not to mention I gave her a 3 dollar tip since she seemed like she didn't wanna be there just for her to do that and have a attitude towards me I would love to come there and to be treated with a smile . I'm sorry that doing your job is apart of your job but this has to change because that's ridiculous.

This place has the potential to be a really dope coffee shop. The elements are all there, except the quality of workers. Some of them don't understand that they are the face of such a dope coffee shop. I visited Otherlands to get some work done and ordered a chai tea latte w oat milk, and a turkey sausage egg & cheese, which is supposed to be their special. My latte didn't take too long, but it wasn't good. It looked like the barista just dumped the spice on top of my drink. It was overwhelming, and the drink itself was bad. The sandwich was burnt, but not too bad. I went back and had my drink remade and it still was bad.Wish my experience was better. A great place w bad food & drinks always sucks.

Really good vibes here. Will definitely come back. Thoroughly enjoyed their bagel. Their cortado was completely top tier. Best in Memphis.

I felt very unwelcome here. The baristas were unfriendly and very judgmental. The coffee was good but did not make up for the bad attitudes. I hope things will change.

Want a creative, relaxed, cozy environment for studying, remote work, or reading...? Otherlands is the place for you! This is my go-to on a pretty day when I want to get work done outside on their big patio. Love all the plants, eclectic crowd, and yummy drinks. My cons to this spot & the reason for 4 stars is that the food is consistently so bland. While I recommend the coffee for sure, I wouldn't recommend coming to Otherlands for the food!

Atmosphere 10/10Room to sit 10/10Food...i never got food hereCoffee 7/10. The coffee is good but the strength is bottom tier. If you want to go and enjoy a cup of coffee just to have a reason to drink a cup of coffee; go here, but don't expect it to (wake you up in the morning). House brew was not very strong and flavor is a little lackluster. Latte is good cinos are good and everything coffee wise is just good. But i love this place and will continue to frequent.

The coffee was decent, the shop had a odd smell to it, the staff did their job. I'm still on the Hunt for great coffee in Memphis......

Stumbled upon this sustainable coffee shop and I fell in love. Its unique aesthetic caught my attention and instantly loved it. I had the salmon bagel plate of course and a latte to drink. Otherlands is a great place to study and catch up with friends.Everything is made from scratch and they have vegan options. The service was great , I was greeted at the door with a smile and a "Hello, welcome to Otherlands, have you been here before ? I enjoyed my time there and will be visiting again soon.

Otherlands is a fairly laid back coffeeshop with standard fair. I generally prefer coffeeshops that are more intimate, but the spaciousness of Otherlands doesn't afford that experience. Instead, it is easier to feel anonymous that you might feel at your regular, standby coffee shop. One plus of Otherlands (compared with other local coffeeshops) is that the first refill on drip coffee is free and subsequent refills are substantially discounted.

We love this place and have been coming for years. One of the original hip coffee shops in Memphis. Great little gift shop, nice treats, fresh hot coffee. It’s a perfect atmosphere to work alone, study or visit with friends. It’s a total midtown vibe. Don’t miss it if you are visiting from out of town. It’s the real Memphis.

A laid back and comfortable place for coffee, tea , pastries, and sandwiches.I didn't try their sandwiches but every 1 of 5 people were ordering sandwiches. I ordered the caramel latte with oatmilk along with a lemon poppyseed muffin which btw is vegan. I also ordered the special which consisted of a vegan aoili and veggie sausage on a bagel. People are sitting down to work on laptops, study text books, have conversations, and I just wanted to try somewhere new and accommodating to vegans. There is plenty outdoor and indoor seating as well as kids friendly. I will return.

I enjoyed my time here! I decided to work somewhere other than the office or home and this was a great choice. There is plenty of seating with or without table space. I thought the food and beverage menu was pretty large for a cafe so I was happy with having those choices. This place feels very comfortable - I stayed for hours! I had the salmon and lox bagel breakfast and a couple of hot lattes. Highly recommend!

It took at least 20 minutes to get my coffee order. They were slammed on a Sunday morning. There were at least 10 orders ahead of mine. Seating was plentiful inside and decor was eclectic. Coffee was okay.
